Feeling Better Everyday

Not long ago I went into the doctor to have blood work done, it seemed as though everything I was doing to lose weight was not getting me far. I was working our daily anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour a day, I was watching what I ate, yet the scale was having a hard time moving, and I really wasn't seeing results with measurements either. This made me depressed however, giving up wasn't an option. I did cut back on working out, because it's so depressing to bust your ass, and see very little results. Well, I now know why I was seeing little results, and that is because I am Insulin Resistance, so my body was changing the insulin into fat, and making more insulin and turning it into more fat, and so forth. The doctor put me on Metformin, to help with the insulin issue. I knew nothing about this drug, all I knew is it was to help people with diabetes, after researching, I have now learned it is used for many things, including weight loss, those suffering with PCOS, and those … [Read more...]

The Results Are In

As I sat in the bath last night relaxing, and email from Walgreens came through that I had a prescription ready for pick-up. I never called one in, so I had a feeling the results to my blood work were in, and this only met one thing. That there was indeed something wrong. I quickly rushed to the computer, so that I could log into my Walgreens account and see what meds I needed to pick up. As soon as I got on, I noticed there were two waiting for me. One was a Vitamin D pill, the other was Metformin. As soon as I seen Metformin, my heart sank. I am no dummy I know Metformin is known to treat those with type 2 diabetes. This scared the crap out of me, because diabetes runs in the family. The thing I couldn't understand was how did I have it, we tend to eat on the healthier sides, and when I took my blood sugar with my mother in laws stuff, I was about 80, and we had just had birthday food, which meant cake and ice cream as well. So this made very little since to me, with it being … [Read more...]

Blood Test Taken Results Soon

One thing that discourages me more than anything is busting my ass to get fit, and not seeing the results. I worked out almost everyday for a month straight, some days I did 3, 15 to 20 minute workouts, and some days I road the bike for 25 miles a day. I didn't see much of a difference with weight nor inches, and those types of results depress me. I have had my thyroid and other blood work looked at in the past, and I have always been told everything was "normal". But what really is normal? I know thyroid issues run in the family, both my mom and grandma are on meds for it. I know I have been battling with my weight since a young age, and I know when I was younger and battling with my weight I was very active. Yesterday, when I went to get a med refill, I talked to my doctor about getting but on something to help me with my battles. Not something to make losing easy, but something to help boost it. When I was 16 I was on redux for a short period. She asked when we last did … [Read more...]

Four Weeks Already?

Today marks 4 weeks since I started working out. I have to say I am proud of myself, in those four weeks, there has only been about 3 days that I didn't do some sort of workout. Now that I am on the right track, eating better, and working out more. It is time to see all those pounds drop... I hope anyways. Tuesday I will take measurements. I took a quick measurement yesterday and the results were okay. I would like to see them go down a lot more, however, I cannot expect the weight and inches to drop super fast. I think that's what discourages people when losing weight. They want the weight off NOW not later and when the weight moves slow even though they're busting their ass, it can become a bit depressing. I can only hope that once I lose some weight my hormones will balance themselves out, and my husband and I can conceive. I do have doubts that baby number 2 will be only a dream, however, I know it is in the hands of God on whether we do conceive baby number 2. Here is to … [Read more...]

The Baby Blues

All things happen for a reason right? Sometimes I wonder if I will get my second baby, in 6 months I will be 35 and it seems like we have been trying forever to get to the baby point. I stopped birth control back in 2009 in hopes we could get pregnant, and 5 years later we are still in the trying mode. After doing some reading, I believe my hormones are so far gone, I am hoping and praying with exercise, and weight loss a baby will soon follow. The more depressing part is it seems like no matter how many pedals on the bike, no matter how many kettle bell swings, and no matter how many weight lifts, the weight wants to go NO where... Everytime I step on the scale I get more depressed, while I don't let it stop me, I keep going... I decided to put the weights down, and focus more on the bike, I went from 15 miles a day to 25 miles a day, with the holidays here, I didn't get my full 25 miles in on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, however, I am up to 101 miles in 5 days. All I … [Read more...]

Changing Things Up

Sometimes after doing the same thing over and over, your body gets use to it. So you need to change things up a little bit. I went to working out only once a day, just to give my body a little break. Tonight I decided to drop the weights for a few workouts, and focus on the bike. Today, I did 25 miles on and my legs are killing me. In total it took me 1 hour and 6 minutes. Not to bad, of course I did this in 5 mile bursts, no way I could do it all at once. Tomorrow I will be doing the 25 miles again, and I will continue to do this until the beginning of next week, I think. I have noticed when I don't workout I feel drained and have no motivation, when I workout I seem a bit happier. It is only a matter of time before I hit my goals. How many of you will be picking up the weight, or your feet for that matter and working out the 1st of the year? I have learned one thing, and I will pass it along to you, don't get discourage, as soon as you do, you will give up, and there should … [Read more...]

The Little Things

I know I said I was going to update my progress nightly, however, sometimes by the time it's bedtime, I am so sleepy I am not even thinking to get on here and do a post, I am wanting to curl in bed with my husband under the nice warm blankets and sleep. I haven't been doing the three workouts like I started out doing, I am wanting to give my body a small break, but not a long enough one to get to use to not working out again. Yesterday, I added more to my first two workouts to make up for the third one being missing. However, I am working out for longer times during 1 and 2 so it is still as if I am doing 3 but I am in burn calorie mode longer in workout 1 and 2. Only two Workouts Today

My body is starting to feel it all over, and I think after 9 days straight of working out, I need to give my body a day off to rest. I will probably still workout tomorrow, I just will not be pushing myself as hard. I need my body to heal so I can shock it again. Today after workout #1 my husband decided to call a challenge, he was going to do 200 flys with two 10 pound weights, but I was to do 200 curls with those same two 10 pound weights. Well, I completed the challenge but my arms were dead, and I didn't meet a lot of my goals for the day. Am I disappointed in this no, because I tried my best and I did what I could I got in two workouts today. #1 @ 11am 20 overhead presses with two 10 pound weights 30 curls with two 10 pound weights 20 deadlifts with a 15 pound kettle bell 20 kettle bell swings 5 miles on the exercise bike At this point my husband called for the challenge so I did curls through out the day 12:45pm 40 curls #2 @ 1:45pm 20 overhead … [Read more...]
