Battling the Scales an Everyday Struggle

I have struggles with my weight almost all my life. I remember in 8th grade I tipped the scale at 180 and after entering high school I jumped up to almost 285 by graduation. It didn't matter what I did I couldn't for the life of me lose weight. My mom would make me walk the block, climb the stairs and even walk miles a day. The weight went no where, I wouldn't say I ate bad and I know I got plenty of exercise, I mean I was an 80's kid we rode bikes everywhere. When I was 17 my mom decided to have me put on a weight loss pill. A few months after starting the pill it was recalled. I dropped a few pounds while I was taking it and when I turned 18, I got a job in a busy buffet working the line. I was working 40+ hours a week, and without noticing must I dropped down to 205 pounds. This was the lowest weight in my adulthood. I then got pregnant, had my daughter and went through depression. Watched as the scale jumped to the highest it had been at 315. At this time I was beyond … [Read more...]

EatSmart Precision CalPal Digital Bathroom Scale Review

I have personally struggled with my weight most my life. This has caused me not to only suffer from depression but also anxiety. I have discovered not long ago, that weight issues and anxiety go hand in hand. My anxiety was so severe when we would go anywhere, my stomach would turn in knots and I would have to go to the bathroom. This made family time pretty much impossible. I remember attempting to go eat out, and within the first 10 minutes I would be in the restroom. I would be in there several more times before we finished up and left. I remember I would sit there and try to rush my family, I would be having bad hot flashes, and knew as soon as we left my stomach would tell me to get to the bathroom. I would have to race home in hopes I didn't have an accident in my pants. When I worked outside of the home, I would start having panic attacks, they would get so bad I would have to hold on to something to keep from passing out. I knew if I wanted to stop having bad attacks I … [Read more...]

It’s All About The Protein

With battling my weight most of my life, I decided to go talk to the Doctor about putting a plan into action. The struggles I have are not an overnight struggle, but a struggle that has been going on for as long as I can remember. I remember as soon as I hit about 13, the weight started coming on. I was very active as a child, we were always riding our bikes, and running around the neighborhood. When I hit 8th grade I was 180 pounds and wearing a size 18, after I got into high school things got worse, I jumped to 280. How this happened is really beyond me, we were walkers, we walked to and from school which was about 3/4 mile there and 3/4 mile back, we road bikes for miles a day, and we were always doing something. At a young age, I was never tested for a medical condition to see what the reasoning was for my weight gain. When I was 16 I was put on a pill to help aid me in my weight loss, shortly after the pill was pulled from the market. I did manage to get down to 205, but … [Read more...]

Four Weeks Already?

Today marks 4 weeks since I started working out. I have to say I am proud of myself, in those four weeks, there has only been about 3 days that I didn't do some sort of workout. Now that I am on the right track, eating better, and working out more. It is time to see all those pounds drop... I hope anyways. Tuesday I will take measurements. I took a quick measurement yesterday and the results were okay. I would like to see them go down a lot more, however, I cannot expect the weight and inches to drop super fast. I think that's what discourages people when losing weight. They want the weight off NOW not later and when the weight moves slow even though they're busting their ass, it can become a bit depressing. I can only hope that once I lose some weight my hormones will balance themselves out, and my husband and I can conceive. I do have doubts that baby number 2 will be only a dream, however, I know it is in the hands of God on whether we do conceive baby number 2. Here is to … [Read more...]

After doing some reading, I believe my hormones are so far gone, I am hoping and praying with exercise, and weight loss a baby will soon follow. The more depressing part is it seems like no matter how many pedals on the bike, no matter how many kettle bell swings, and no matter how many weight lifts, the weight wants to go NO where... Everytime I step on the scale I get more depressed, while I don't let it stop me, I keep going... I decided to put the weights down, and focus more on the bike, I went from 15 miles a day to 25 miles a day, with the holidays here, I didn't get my full 25 miles in on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, however, I am up to 101 miles in 5 days. All I … [Read more...]
