Purchasing Comforter sets or Bed in a Bag?

My daughter is finally in her own room! YAY, however, she is lacking a pretty kid friendly bedding set. I have been debating on whether or not to get her a comforter set, or a bed in a bag. I want to get her something that isn't to kiddy, and not to plain. Something that will stick out and match her personality and be good for awhile. Something that makes her room feel like more than a bedroom. I don't want to make a purchase she will not be happy with. I know it is bedding she will be just sleeping on it, however, I disagree. A nice bedding set helps set off a bedroom. Yea, you may only sleep on it, but when it comes to a bedrooms decor a bedding set is much more than just something you sleep on. It helps set the room off, and make it into your own. I think finding the perfect bedding set for a child's bedroom is extremely important. I know my daughter spends a lot of time in her room. It is her place to get away from everyone, while listening to music and playing online. So I … [Read more...]

Fancy Mailboxes Around The Neighborhood

How many of you have drove around the neighborhood just to check out the fancy designer mailboxes? On my trip to the store I pass several, a few include ones that look like fish, trucks, and even one that looks like a crane. Some of my favorite are those ones in cased in bricks. With school being out it means we will be once again replacing our mailbox. The kids around here think it's funny to go around with a bat and doing drive by smashes on the mailboxes. Since living here we have had to replace our mailbox atleast six times. I am about to get a infrared video camera installed, so I can report them. I don't think those kids realize how annoying and expensive it is to keep having to replace them. I am going to get smarter then them, and have my husband install one of my favorite fancy ones... Then when they hit it with a bat, they to will feel the pain. The guy down the road put metal bars around his. How many of you have had your mailbox smashed in? How often does it … [Read more...]

Lawn Care Comparison of Bluegrass vs Fescue Grass

Growing any successful lawn requires care and maintenance of some degree. Watering, fertilizing and other soil amendments are necessary for any variety of grass species. Mowing practices of most people can vary in frequency and cutting height, some types of grass can benefit from unique mowing practices for the species. While there are many standard lawn care practices, in a comparison of Bluegrass vs Fescue grass there are several key differences. Comparing Bluegrass vs Fescue Grass Watering Practices Most varieties of Bluegrass can enter dormancy if not properly watered. They have little to no tolerance for dry conditions. A regular watering schedule that provides adequate moisture without drowning your lawn is ideal. Fescue grass differs very much in this regard. While Bluegrass has little drought tolerance, Fescue is quite capable of standing up to dry spells. If you're in a humid climate that offers moderate night time dew, then watering may not be needed very often. Dryer … [Read more...]

Overcoming Problems With Credit

The current state of the economy has contributed to problems with credit that many people face today. Late or unpaid bills will obviously cause problems with credit. While this goes without saying, the absence of a loan history can also cause credit problems for many people. The absence of credit can put a hold on any financial action for new acquisitions. If you simply have no credit, then there are two options to pursue. You can use collateral such as a car or property. This is the fastest solution if you need a loan quickly. Although this is a timely method, you may not feel comfortable with this. Another great way to eliminate credit problems of this nature is to establish new credit. A high risk loan can be obtained to build initial credit. The interest rates will be high. This makes a small loan amount ideal. A small high risk loan office will regularly report your payments. This will build your credit quite efficiently. Be sure to choose a reputable loan office and confirm … [Read more...]

Grilling This Memorial Day

We are huge into grilling out especially during the Summer months. The reason behind us grilling out so much is simple, grilled food taste so yummy, and well of course it's way to hot to cook inside. However, with that being said when it comes to grilling out safety is important. Whether you are grilling with a gas grill or a charcoal grill it's important that you take precaution. Over 8,000 home fires happen yearly because of grills. These fires can be prevented with proper education. A few years ago not far from me a mom and most of her children perished in a fire caused by a grill being left to smother out on the front porch. I don't think people understand how dangerous it is to not take extra measures when cooking out on grills... Below you will find some tips to help you keep your family safe this Memorial Day weekend. Charcoal Grill Safety Tips: When cooking with charcoal NEVER burn inside a home, camper, or tent. Many don't realize it, but when charcoal is burned it … [Read more...]

Fun Family Times

When I was growing up family was everything. We did just about everything together, during the school year I played volley ball, and my family was there at every game cheering me on. When school wasn't in session, and volley ball season was over we would go skating. I remember every Thursday night was family night. Then on the weekends we would sit around watching movies, or playing board games. I loved making those memories with my family when I was younger, now that I am older I am making those same memories with my own family. While we are still trying to teach our daughter to roller skate, family outings always include a lot of family fun. We have a rather big yard so we always set up the volley ball net, and get our game on. This is also the time we take to get caught up on the family news. To find out how Aunts and Uncles are doing. To get the up to date information how the nieces and nephews are doing in school, and to see what sort of trouble Grandma may have gotten … [Read more...]

Working From Home

How many of you are looking to work from home? With the rising cost of gas, working from home is a rather smart option. There are several companies out there that want and need your help. However, finding the legit ones can be pretty tough. You can Google different keywords on Google and try to find those legit places, but even it you find them, it doesn't mean the people on the site are legit. Take iwriter.com for instance. While this site has it pros and cons, the main people behind it are not doing a good enough job to protect those writing the articles. As it is the pay is not that great, but they do pay weekly and if you are fast at researching and fast at the brain you could make good money from this site, IF you don't get a scammer. What do I mean by scammer, well this site has become over ran with people who claim to want articles, however, after you write these articles, these requestors screen shot your work and respin it to make it theirs then they get away with free … [Read more...]

Purchasing A Semi Truck For Storage

Let me tell you a little about my Grandma, she loves to collect things. You walk into her home and she has a ton of stuff. At one time I thought she was a hoarder. She was sneaky when she purchased her items. She would have them go to my Aunts and tell Grandpa she has won it or she got it from a yard sale. Her collecting got so bad Grandpa talked her into having an auction to get rid of most of her things she collected over the years. He also started to look for semi trucks for sale. He knew some of her collections she couldn't part with, and he knew they had no room for the things no more, and renting a storage unit would be pricey. So he thought he would clean out the house, plus make Grandma happy by not demanding she get rid of everything. So now they have a semi and it's parked in their yard, with all of Grandma's collections in there. I think a lot of the reasons Grandma didn't want to sell many of her collections, is because she wants to pass them down to her great … [Read more...]

On A Road To No Where

Half the time I feel like I am on a road to no where. Some days I am fine other days my anxiety goes haywire. I have to call and make doctor appointments for my daughter, make her a dentist appointment, make me an appointment to get in to get all of my medical crap transferred. These are times my anxiety starts going nuts, and it doesn't matter what I do it doesn't get better. Often times I really do feel like my anxiety is going to win. I feel like I failed as a mother, and a wife. Although I know this isn't my fault. The thing that scares me the most, is my daughter is going to end up like me. I don't want her to be scared to do small things like make phone calls. I don't want her to worry about going to the store. Simple things are so hard for me to do. Anxiety controls my life, and I just want my life back. I want to be normal, I don't want to freak out over little things. I know I said before with medication is can help. However, I am on medication and it helps some, but … [Read more...]
