ONEHOPE wine – the wine that keeps you feeling good

Recently I was introduced to a wonderful company that goes by the name of ONEHOPE Wine.  ONEHOPE Wine sells many varieties of wine and are some of the best wines I've ever tasted - but that's not even the half of it.  HALF of their profits are donated to partner charities with every bottle sold. In a mere 5 years the company has donated over $750,000 to some very worthy charities. Company with a Mission Sometimes people find causes, other times causes find people. Such is the case with the founders of ONEHOPE.  ONEHOPE was started by eight friends who turned what started as a personal mission to help out a friend with her fight against cancer into a thriving business which is founded on a very basic, but compelling principle: giving back is good business. The eight founders started the company working out of their living rooms and selling wine out of the back of their trunks. Since the inception of the company in June 2007 the company has grown from 0 to well over 40,000 cases … [Read more...]

Weeding out the Negative –

So I mentioned it before, I am a book worm. I have a huge collection of self help books because that's what I enjoy (I will gladly analyze you free of charge, lol). I not only like to figure out why I'm feeling or acting a certain way, but I also want to know why others are. One of my most favorite books ever is Safe People: How to Find Relationships That Are Good For You, and Avoid Those That Aren't; by Henry Cloud and John Towsend. Now this dynamic duo has written quite a few awesome books including the Boundaries series (including one for kids!) But Safe People is an awesome book for those of you who are unsure how, (or even who) to weed out of your life. I have always been (up until recently that is) been a person who really cares what others think about me. I would honestly work hard trying to get the person who I thought didn't like me, or who I offended, or who was always saying negative things, to like me, accept me, forgive me...  I would go out of my way for people who … [Read more...]

Military Diet Adventures

So my sister & I were pinning our way through Pinterest one day, and found an interesting Pin about a "Military Diet- lose 10 lbs in 3 days!" I scoffed at the thought thinking, "yeah sure, just like all the other diets claim to eat this, drink that, and lose all this weight. There is no way." But my sister had other plans she decided that she was gonna' give it a shot - and I was gonna' be along for the ride! I have to admit I was very skeptical about the whole thing - but my husband said it was done when he was  in boot camp (and of course his skinny rear got extra rations), and that it really worked. So we started Day 1 yesterday. I can tell you right now a lot of it is mind over matter! I regularly eat low calorie and healthy, but to be told what to eat when to eat it and how to eat it was a bit new to me. This was our breakfast menu for Day 1: 1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Slice of Toast, 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter, and Coffee or Tea - I can honestly say I've never eaten … [Read more...]

Sibu Beauty Product Review & Giveaway

Thanks to Sibu Beauty  I got to review some of their awesome products! Sibu is part of  the Seabuckthorn Company. They produce and sell  oil, oil capsules, tea, lotions, creams, soap, and other wonderful beauty products. I was super impressed will all the products they have and that everything they offer is made of the highest quality Himalayan Seabuckthorn on Earth! I know your gonna ask - WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?? It is a berry that is edible and extremely nutritious.  It is an active ingredient in many anti-aging skin care products.  (Hello, paging Dr. Oz!) Sea buckthorn is a multi-purpose botanical ingredient that offers skin-soothing benefits in addition to medicinal properties. The plant which grows in central Asia and eastern Europe produces an orange-colored fruit, with pulp and seeds that create a nutrient-packed oil when ground up. Sufferers of skin conditions  like eczema and rosacea may find relief in formulas that contain this additive. I’m currently using a set of skincare … [Read more...]

Mamavation Monday – Beachbody here I come..

So here we are on our way into Fall.. Bathing suit bodies no longer a worry, no constant mirror looks at your arms wondering if you should really be wearing that tank or halter top, time to break out the hoodies and jeans, right?? Yes..and NO! I love the fall and the clothes it brings with it, but this is the absolute best time to get yourself ready for next summer. Instead of making your resolution in January, how about now?? For some reason fall and winter have always been the easiest times for me to lose weight, and keep on track. Maybe it's the cool air, or the fact that I can hide away in my sweats until I see the changes that keep me going. Either way, I have committed myself  to a 90 day challenge with some friends doing the  Team BeachBody fitness plan. Just looking through the success stories gives me the motivation to give it 110%.     Have you tried any of the Beachbody fitness work outs? What is your favorite and why?? … [Read more...]
