For some Winter can be very depressing, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact it is so cold it is hard to do things. During the Summer months we are outside most the time, but during Winter we are stuck indoors, unless we want to freeze our behinds off! Did you know one way to help cure those winter blues is doing some crafts with your children. I have found that when I spend more time with my daughter doing fun things such as making cards, building houses from whatever we can find, or even playing the Wii, it helps with me feeling all blah. Sometimes all it takes is a nice hot cup of chocolate, some family time, and winter will be over before you know it. Look how fast Christmas got here. Come 2012 I have a lot of things in store for my sites, as well as my business. I want to get my daughter involved as much as possible so I will even be having her make things to include in the store. Thankfully I will be starting in the winter months so it will make the time go a lot … [Read more...]
Summer Outings
Is it too early to be thinking about Summer outings? Being back in Michigan I am ready for Summer, and ready to hit the beaches, and have awesome backyard cookouts with my family. We are currently searching for a place of our own, and hope to have the Michigan home as our vacation home when it gets too hot in Tennessee. I always wanted a vacation home! We are looking for a place with a rather big backyard, so we can have room for our gatherings. When we lived in Tennessee we would get together have a cook out and play games, however, it seemed we never had enough sit down space. I would like to get some Adirondack chairs and a small table to place in the middle. Why Adirondack chairs you ask, because most are made from recycled material and they would be great for lounging in the sun, while sipping a nice cold drink, and socializing with family and friends. We also need room for a picnic table or two. Although a blanket on the ground for the kids to sit and eat at once was okay, … [Read more...]
Can You Believe it!
Five, more days until that man in the red suit comes down those chimneys! Make sure no fire is lite he may have to go some where else. You know when I was growing up, I always wondered how Santa came in when a fire was lite. As my daughter got older she would ask how Santa came in since we didn't have a chimney. I would explain with his Magical key. Once she discovered Santa was make believe, she wanted to know who called her, and how the letter was wrote. So I showed her all the cool tools moms and dads to keep their children believing. I think one thing that made the finding out so much easier on her, is the fact I have raised her that it is better to give then receive. I think that is a lot of what happened to our economy people in the higher up places got a bit greedy, and the lower ones are the ones that suffer from the aftermath. I hope 2012 becomes better for all and things make a big turn around, I know it will take time but it is possible. I am making a pledge for … [Read more...]
Great Deals For Less
For many people, the economy has put a halt to their spending. So we are finding other ways to get those nice items we want. I have turned to finding awesome deal sites on-line such as NoMoreRack. These sites allow me to get nice products for my family, for cheap. I first learned of NoMoreRack through their refer a friend. Their refer a friend gives you the opportunity to refer your friends to their site, and as a thank you, they send you nice items. I have to admit though, when I first heard of the refer a friend the first thing that popped into my head was NoMoreRack had to be a scam. I was having hard time believing they were really sending out items such as ipads, to those who referred so many friends. So I did a search for NoMoreRack scam, several things came up, but I like to dig deep into things. I try to never write a company off based on some bad reviews. I know people tend to get mad at companies for many reasons, and they like to get as much bad reviews out their as … [Read more...]
Do You Suffer From Social Phobia?
You maybe wondering right about now, what exactly is social phobia. Don't worry I was wondering the same thing, when the doctor wrote on that paper that's what I suffer from. It all started about 10 years ago, right after I had my daughter. I guess now it makes since, I stopped working and became a stay at home mom. Although, I loved every minute of it, I now wish I had stayed in the work force. Social Phobia, also know as a social anxiety disorder. This disorder is when a person becomes overwhelmingly anxious and excessively self-conscious in everyday social situations. Those that suffer from social anxiety disorder have a fear of being watched and judged by others. This fear often becomes so powering that it interferes with their everyday activities. Even shopping can be a challenge. I always new there was something wrong with me, I thought it was just anxiety, I would have never labeled myself as one with "Social Phobia". After the doctor stated that is what she thought I had, … [Read more...]
Buying Clunkers
When I go out and spend money on a vehicle I expect to get at least my moneys worth out of it. When I was 21 I went and purchased my first car, it was a Pontiac Grand Prix, I happen to love my Pontiac's we have owned 3 total. However, when I purchased my first car, I ended up paying more than it was worth. I was planning a trip and I needed to make sure this car would make it there, and back. I informed the dealer of this, and they assured me, said if anything was to break they would make sure I had a rental and it was fixed. Well needless to say it didn't turn out that way, and I had to threaten them to get a Lemon Law Attorney. It happened back in 2000, I was going to Tennessee to see my now husband, I made it half way when the car went blah on the interstate. I was stranded, no phone, no nothing. Long story short, my husband came to get me from Illinois we left the car, and came back for it, I called the dealership, explained what happened. He told me pretty much to deal with … [Read more...]

I finally broke down, and went to the doctor about some of the issues I have been having. I am like most people and don't like the doctors! However, I have found an absolutely amazing doctor, she is awesome. Have you ever went to the doctor only for them to asked rushed, or as if you are wasting their time? How about called to talk to the doctor only to be given the nurse instead... Let me tell you not at this doctors office, she sat there, and talked to me about many issues I was having, she let me know if I needed ANYTHING or just someone to talk to, to call her at the office and she would be there to listen to my issues. She is going to be addressing all health issues I have, such as my anxiety, IBS, the knee issues, and a few other problems I have. When we were in Tennessee going to the doctor was a joke, they wanted to assume this was wrong with you, and assume that wasn't. I have had severe anxiety for awhile now, I am now hopefully going to be treated for this, and I … [Read more...]

I Should Have Figured It Out A Long Time Ago
We have always told our daughter Santa brings the stocking and we do the rest, well this year she discovered the truth. She thought it was pretty funny that mom and dad were Santa, Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy. I honestly think she has known for a lot longer though, because when she was about 6, she mentioned there was no way Santa could go to everyone's house in only a day. Anyways, we went to the store today, and she seen some stuffed animals, and the box they were in was marked "Stocking Stuffers" She makes sure to point it out and goes... "I cannot believe, I didn't figure it out a long time ago" I was confused on what she was talking about. I asked her "Figure what out" she runs her finger across the words stocking stuffer while saying it... Then it dawned on me, she was referring to Santa! She couldn't believe she didn't figure out we were Santa! I just laughed and told her to be quiet, wasn't sire if there was any small children close by, and trust me I don't want my … [Read more...]
