The History Of Skin Care

Do you ever like to look back at how people did things many years ago? It is amazing how far our technology has come. Now I have done some crazy things for my acne removal, but I would never, or I should say I could never imagine taking sand paper to my face! What are some things you have done to better help your complexion. Have you done any face lifting exercises to help with aging? What about the old toothpaste trick to remove a pimple? Come on spill the beans. How many of you have tried the facial toning exercises?   … [Read more...]

Nothing But Ice!

So we got some rain last night on top of the snow, and it turned it all into one big mess of ice. Blah! I hate ice, driving in it sucks. Thankfully the main roads are clear, and I only have to drive 5 miles per hour for about 10 minutes. I am so ready for summer, I am so ready to be in my own place. Winter is so depressing! I guess if I had the proper winter wear, and new how to ice ski, then I would love it, but it is just to cold for me. I need to find a place in the middle. Tennessee is to hot in the Summer, and Michigan is to damn cold in the Winter. I want my own little Island that stays about 80 degrees all the time. That would be heaven. I would fish for my food, and I of course I would have some fruit trees... Hell I would just live on fruit! Who is with me on this one, let's all run away from all the stress and blah here, go to our own Islands, and just take a year off... I think if I could I would, but I would have to take my family... Well, my husband and daughter. … [Read more...]

Remodeling, Where To Start

Cold weather makes me want to remodel. However, remodeling can be very stressful. If you are like me everything has to be perfect. I want paint that not only sets off the room, I want paint that matches my furniture. In the bathroom I want glass tiles, but picking on the glass tile that will look best can be something else. When it comes to remodeling I usually pick on three things I like the best, and I have my husband and daughter pick which ones they like the best, and we go from there. We want a home everyone loves! Mosaic tile has always been some of my favorites. I have already told my husband when we get to the point of purchasing our dream home, the kitchen is mine! I want to do the walls in glass mosaic tile, I have heard it makes washing down the walls so much easier. That is one thing I dislike about spring cleaning, is washing all the walls. It always seems like it takes longer to wash walls then to clean the rest of the home. What sort of tiles do you like? If … [Read more...]

They Say All Things Happen For A Reason

But do they really? Or do we tell ourselves that to help lessen the hurt. For the past 7 months or so my life has been one hell of a roller coaster ride. I cannot really go into details on the blog, like they say somethings are better left unsaid. I sometimes find myself questioning the saying many say. I have always been a strong believer of all things happening for a reason. Sometimes though it's hard as hell to keep that faith. It's hard as hell to think God would put so much on one person; I will admit, I have been at my breaking point a few times. I have been to the point I am ready to say fuck it all... (yes, I said that word.) Being a parent is hard work, you don't only have yourself to think about, you have those that you helped create! Sometimes I wonder if I am still in my postpartum from having my daughter 10 years ago. When she was 2 I was diagnosed with manic depression. I didn't want to believe it so never took the meds. As my daughter got older anxiety started to … [Read more...]

Burrr!

Sweet! I have not seen temperatures this low in over 8 years! It is currently 9 degrees outside, with a feel like of -6! I am trying not to focus on how cold it is out there, and more on my business. It is only a matter of time before I start having product ready to be sold. I am purchasing about 20 pounds of beeswax tomorrow! WOOHOO. For the most part I am pretty excited. The better the business goes the better chance I have at getting my sanity back. However, it finally looks like winter has decided to make her appearance, ugh. I sometimes wish I was back in Tennessee, or Michigan could have milder winters. How are the temps were you are? Lots of snow or a little?     … [Read more...]

Phone Problems

This guest post from Werner Rogers We’ve been getting far more phone calls at the office than normal and I knew we needed to make some changes to keep up. We already had the high speed internet but I started looking into a smallbusiness.xo t1 line because that’s what I knew we needed to focus on – there’s something to be said for not having to worry too much about whether or not your internet or phones are going to go out on you when you’re dealing with a client. Things at the office have been tight these last couple of years but I always say if you’re not growing you’re dying so there’s no reason not to keep investing in your business. I think it’s important to note that people do what they need to do to stay afloat and that’s what I’ve been working on this last year – the economy’s rough but there’s no reason if other small businesses can succeed right now that mine can’t, too, and that’s what I’m going forward on. I can do it! … [Read more...]

Parking or Long Lines?

What's worse about going to the airport the parking or the long lines? I have found to avoid long lines and to get a good parking spot, the best thing to do is make reservations. Yup, call ahead of time, this will cut down on circling the parking lot trying to find a place to park. You can usually even make those reservations online, I know you can make reservations for Ft Lauderdale airport parking with a few simple clicks. We all know how stressful traveling can be, especially if you have children, the last thing you want is to be delayed because you were in the parking lot looking for a place to park. Making reservations for parking online, is not only simple it is also convenient and it takes away some of the stress from having to travel.  Have you ever tried to make a reservation for a hotel, and you get sent through several recordings before the reservation is actually placed?I have and I usually end up hanging up before the reservation is made. Making them reservations … [Read more...]

How Do You Stay Warm In The Winter?

This winter has been pretty mild, however, it will not stay that way. It won't be long and we will be seeing some pretty cold nights. You know what that means right? Our electric/gas bills will spike! I am sorry, but I do not want to spend what little extra money I have on sending to the bill collectors. Is your home well insulated? Did you know if it isn't you will only be paying for your heat to escape through the cracks! Want to save money on your home heating bill? Get to insulating! If you live in a mobile home, this is a must for you. I have grown up in mobile homes, and I know they are some of the hardest places to heat. When my daughter was a baby I would see heating bills up to $450 due to poor insulation. Don't let another winter go by where you are helping melt the snow out those window seals, you may be thinking metal building insulation can be pricey, but after you have everything insulated you will be saving more money than what you spent to make your home … [Read more...]

BBQ Pizza Recipe

Pizza has to be one of my favorite foods. What makes pizza to me is the crust, if the pizza doesn't have the yummy crust you can forget it. At one time I refuse to purchase store bought pizza, the crust was just blah. Until I had great value pizza, that is some of the best store bought pizza I have ever had! However, I have learned to make some pretty yummy at home pizza as well. Recently, we had some pork that needed to be used, what better way to use up some pork butt than shred it and bbq it. Well there wasn't enough there for sandwiches so pizza it was. My husband and the South has wore off on me, and we bbq just about everything! I used store bought pizza dough Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce Mozzarella cheese Sweet Onions The amount you use really all depends on you, I used one whole purple onion, sauteed. 4 cups of Mozzarella cheese, 2 store bought pizza doughs, you know the ones in the can that scare you when you pop it open LOL, and about a pound of pork … [Read more...]

Searching For The Perfect Home

Are you searching for that perfect home, but not sure where to start? Well, you can always do it the old fashion way, get in your car and drive around until you spot a for sale sign in the area you would love to purchase a home. However, with the price of gas searching for that perfect home via driving around probably isn't the best option. My husband and I are also in the process of searching for our perfect home. I have been using the internet to my advantage, not only do I get to see homes in the area I would love to relocate to, I also get to see pictures of the home, the school area, as well as the address, so I can do a search to see how the crime rate is in that area. Not sure how to search online for homes for sale? Just do a quick search of where you would like to search first, such as St Louis homes for sale. This will get you started, then you can decide the price range, if you need a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom, how many bathrooms you would like and so forth. I have to … [Read more...]
