Kettle Bells, My New Best Friend

In order for me to stay focused, I have to log what I do several different ways. It all has to be in front of my face, so I know to keep at it. This isn't a short term process, this is long term, this is something I will be doing for the rest of my life. However, in order for it to all sink in, and for me to keep at it right this moment, I have to log it all. I have a dry erase board in my room, on it we have my husband's name, my name, the exercises we are to do, and our goal number. Since we are just starting back into this again, our goals are rather low. My Daily Goals 50 Curls 100 Kettle Bell Swings 5 Miles on the Exercise Bike 50 Flys (I cannot do these until I get smaller weights, 10 pound weights are NOT going to work) 50 overhead presses So far I am doing pretty good at keeping up with my goals. Today I have had 8 x 16 ounce glasses of water and food wise I haven't had anything to bad. Below are the mini workouts that I have done today, I can say my body is killing … [Read more...]

Getting Fit One Day At A Time

I don't do much with the site, so I decided I would use it to log my weight loss. It has been a very hard path for me, I lose then gain then lose and gain more. I have been big most my life, my lowest at adulthood was 205, at that time we got pregnant, I quit my job to be a stay at home mom. I then went into depression and on came the weight. Yesterday, was day 1 of my journey, I will log my activity on the site, to keep me going. I have to have it out there or I tend to give up. I have also put the scale up, and I will not be looking at that while I work to slim down. The scale always depresses me more, which causes me to eat and gain. Yesterday I had 5 x 16 ounces of water. I did drink two cups of coffee as well. With it being the day after Thanksgiving for lunch and dinner we had left overs. I had stuffing and turkey, not the best choices, but as I get going I will learn to reduce the bad things I put in my body. I did three mini workouts yesterday. #1 @ 9:30am 20 … [Read more...]

Walmart To Start Black Friday Early

Thanks to Walmart and them starting to honor competitor deals a week early, I was thinking Thanksgiving was this Thursday, I was a bit bummed out when I learned Thanksgiving wasn't until next week. How many of you are thrilled to know that on Friday the 22nd, Walmart will be price matching the competitors black Friday deals? What does this mean for all the other stores on Black Friday? If I had money I would think this was awesome, since I live in a smaller town all we have is Walmart. If I wanted to go to some of the other stores such as Kmart, Target, or even Toys R Us, I would have to go to Memphis, and let me tell you I am far from a fan of Memphis. I am getting better at going, but my anxiety still tends to act up. How many of you will be taking advantage of Walmarts price matching Friday? I tend to stay out of most the stores until after Christmas! … [Read more...]

Accessories for Halloween Costumes

When it comes to Halloween costume tights, there are several hot trends that are showing up at October parties this year. One of those trends is pairing bright orange tights with a pumpkin costume. A pair of orange tights serves as the finishing touch to a great big pumpkin suit worn by an adult, a child or even a baby. Here are some other trends that are picking up steam this Halloween season. Orange and black tights are being worn by women who want to dress as the wicked witch of the east this Halloween. The tights immediately remind fellow partygoers of the famous book The Wizard of Oz. These tights are sometimes paired with a basic black witch's dress or a black dress with an orange hat or scarf as an accessory. Many women are finding that these tights can turn into the main attraction of their scary outfit! Lots of young girls are making the choice to dress up as their favorite black cat for trick-or-treating time. A black leotard and skirt paired with black tights makes for … [Read more...]

Battling Obesity

It seems as though I have been battling this thing called obesity most of my life. I am to that point where I have to lose weight it I want another child, and if I want to be around for the daughter I already have. With tipping the scales at close to 300 it's time I do something in fast. I have changed my eating habits, I am slowly starting to introduce exercise into my daily routine. I have done this many times only to get depressed with the scales and give up. I am done giving up, I will find time to workout, even if it's just 15 minutes, because 15 minutes is better than none. I am currently using a stationary bike, kettlebells, and dumbbells. I am working my way up the later, and daily doing 60 curls, 40 kettlebell swings, and 3 miles on the bike. I would like to get in over 100 curls, 200 swings, and 15 miles on the exercise bike daily! I know this will take a little time, but I am doing it for me, and for my family. I know if I get my weight under control my other health … [Read more...]
