National Apple Month and Baked Apples Recipe

Did you know September is National Apple Month? As the saying goes, an apple a day, keeps the doctor away! Does it really keep the doctor away? Apples are big this time of year, due to them being a fall fruit. With Halloween coming several will start having fun parties, which include the all time favorite game of bobbing for apples! How many of you have bobbed for apples? Did you know apples are also one of the healthiest snacks you can give your children? They help prevent heart disease, they help to control ones cholesterol, and they also help manage weight. One of my favorite ways to eat apples is dipped in caramel and rolled in nuts. Yes, I know so much for managing weight, right? But tye are so YUMMY, and I would also rather have a healthy snack with a small sweets to cut back on other sweet cravings during the day. There are several other uses for apples as well, such as Apple Butter, Apple Crisp, Apple Pies, Applesauce, and of course Baked Apples. Pritikin Longevity … [Read more...]

do you hate the recent facebook changes?

Yea, so do I. Like many, I am not one for change. Sure change is good sometimes, but other times, change is not needed. Last night before I was about to close down the laptop for the night, I noticed some changes to Facebook. These changes were not for the better, I got pretty annoyed. I do not want to see my updates in a small box on the right hand sidebar, I want to see it in the middle how it once was. Instead I am seeing the same thing over and over again. Just because facebook thinks it is a top story doesn't mean I do. I seen several other facebookers fussing about this new change as well, one had comments, so I read the comments to find out there is an app for your web browser. I use firefox, so I got the firefox plugin, now this app or plugin whatever you would like to call it, doesn't make the facebook look like before, but you can customize how your facebook is, you can even change the theme. If you are interested you can head on over to Better Face Book, and check it … [Read more...]

can you believe these dogs are brother and sister

I am not much of a dog person. However, I fell in love with these dogs. It took me a bit to warm up to them, but they are rather good dogs. Can you believe these dogs are brother and sister. The male is the shorter dog, the female is the larger dog. These dogs entertain my daughter for hours. The female dog chases the laser pointer! I have never seen a dog chase the laser light before. This dog hears the click she is searching the floor for the light.   … [Read more...]

Monster High for Halloween

With this being our first Halloween back in Michigan, I have decided to make this a special Halloween. I went a head and purchased that Monster High Costume my daughter was wanting. Thank goodness for Amazon gift cards. If I didn't have it set a side she sure wouldn't be getting the outfit. Anyhow, I am wanting to do a Monster High theme, and make some neat treats. I was thinking about some dirt, with worms coming out, and a litter box. I always thought that was super cool. I think this will be by far the best Halloween. As long as the weather is nice that is, I remember one time going trick or treating here in Michigan with it sleeting. Not fun, you come home cold, and just want to sit on the heater! Has anyone made plans for Halloween yet? Will you be having a small party? Maybe a Church event? What are your kids going as this year?   … [Read more...]

6 more weeks until Halloween

Only 6 more weeks until Halloween, and I am pretty excited. Do you know what your kiddos will be this year? This year dear daughter is wanting to go as a Monster High girl, however, I am not sure that will happen. With money being tight right now, those costumes, are just a bit to pricy for my pocket book. I have priced them and the whole costume, wig, and make-up would be about $40. I can only imagine what a family with more than one kid pays for, during Halloween. To be honest we usually stick with the cheap Halloween Costumes at Walmart. Yea there is not much of a selection, but they are a bit cheaper. This year I want to have a small Halloween party, sort of like a celebration for being back in Michigan. I think my nieces, and daughter would have a blast. I already know they will have fun going trick 0r treating this year. When we lived in Tennessee, Halloween was not to celebrated, well not in the area I lived in anyways, we were lucky to find 3 houses in a row … [Read more...]

stuffed jalapeno peppers recipe

I am not one for hot spicy foods, and I am sure not the one for jalapeno peppers. However, my husband loves them! On my daughter's birthday my sister made some stuffed jalapeno peppers, and I almost passed these up, until my husband told me they were not spicy. So, I put on my big girl panties, got brave and tried one, let's just say that one lead to about 5, and then I was hooked. I asked my sister how to make them, she failed to tell me the most important part, SOAK THEM! When I made them I did not soak them and a few were super spicy I thought I was about to die, but both my husband and dad loved them with the extra spice. Want to know how to make these yummy things? What You Need: 20 jalapeno peppers 20 string cheese 20 slices of bacon toothpicks Directions: Cut jalapenos in half length wise, then scrap the seeds out. If you have sensitive hands make sure to wear gloves. This should give you 40, soak them in hot water. I am not sure if this makes a … [Read more...]

finding legit work at home jobs

Finding legit jobs that you can do from home can be very overwhelming. With there being so many scams out there, it is hard to determine which is legit, and which isn't. I have come across a few sites, that I know from personal experience to be legit. I have received payment with no issues. Writing Article Jobs We all can use a little extra money, one of the easiest ways to do this is writing articles. Below is a list of some of the places I have personally worked for, some the pay is good, others the pay not so great, but when you need milk, you tend to do what you can. #1 Blogsvertise - The pay on this varies, however, they do pay. Payment is sent out roughly 30 days of doing the work.s #2 Payu2blog - The pay here is not the best, and you cannot pick what you want to do, they sign you up for articles, and set a time when they have to be done. You must do all that you are assigned. They pay bi weekly. #3 Bucks2Blog - This site pays a bit more than the other two, … [Read more...]

Won't be long and Halloween will be here! You know what that means, right? It means so are colder temperatures. Colder temperatures mean the kids will not be able to play outside for extended periods of time, so why not have some fun craft projects lined up for them! What a better way to help bring in Halloween, with making Witch's hands. Witch's hands are a fun and in-expensive craft, that children of all ages can do.
