How Busy Moms Can Organize Their Time More Wisely

There are so many hats that we wear as moms. One is the cleaner, one is the chauffeur, one is advice giver, one is the chef, and those are just a few! It can be hard to stay on top of everything all the time. It can hard to be organized and have everything scheduled in right. You do need to have everything in order, though, to be able to run things smoothly and just to function as a normal human being! You don’t want added stress of not knowing how you can get one child from their hockey game when another child is at a party. It has to be planned in advance. Never fear, though, I have some advice to help!

One of the best pieces of advice is to get a large calendar. It can be easy to schedule things on your phone or tablet, but I think a lot of moms like something visual. I know I prefer to see a calendar upfront, rather than on my phone. You can color coordinate things if need to be, to see when timings might clash that week. You daughter might have changed the time of her gymnastics classes, but your son still has to be collected from school around the same time. Having a large calendar can help you to see what your spouse or other half will be doing and allows you to add notes to it. If you need to call your neighbor to help out with rides to school, then write yourself a note to remember.

When you use your calendar, it might sound silly, but use it wisely. When you schedule an appointment, make a note of the things surrounding it. If you need to arrange a babysitter when you go for a hospital appointment, then write it all down. If you need to RSVP to an invite, then mark the date of the party, but make a note of when you need to respond by.

Make sure that you get a regular planning schedule in place. Something like a Saturday or Sunday evening is a great way to plan for the week ahead. The main things that you could be planning and thinking about are the calendar; making a note of all that is happening that week. Rides; do you need to sort out rides for anyone to anywhere? Cooking; it is not only appointments that we need to be organized in. If you don’t already meal plan, it is something you should start to do. It will save you time and money. You should also think about the chores that need doing. Then you can assign out who will be doing what and when they need to be done by.

Being a mom is the best job in the world! It is just a super busy one. But organizing your time will help you to feel on top of things and stop you feeling stressed. There might even be some time to schedule in a little time for yourself.
