Baby Step 1: Achieving Financial Freedom

Finding financial freedom will not happen over night. It will take some working on to get where one wants to be. However, if you take small baby steps to achieve your goals, you will have no problem finding where you want to be.

On Dave Ramsey’s website, he has three great worksheets to use.

  1. Quickie Budget
  2. Monthly Cash Flow Planning
  3. Irregular Income Budget

Even if you make small goals, and keep great records in time you will see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Getting out of debt, is no different then other things in our lives, they all take time. I am sure you didn’t get in debt over night, and I am for certain, you will not get out of debt over night.

I do know that it’s possible to get our of debt, and just like everything else, whether or not you stay out of debt depends on your spending. I have a rule I go by in my home, if I don’t have the money for it, then I don’t need it. My family doesn’t own a single “credit” card. At times, I do wish we had one, however, I feel if we did we would get ourselves in debt, and the only debt we currently have is our car which will be paid off next year.

What are some rules you live by when it comes to money? I know some people that have the “you only live once” attitude. But did you know that when you die if you have debt it gets passed to your children! That’s something to make you think.
