I have personally struggled with my weight most my life. This has caused me not to only suffer from depression but also anxiety. I have discovered not long ago, that weight issues and anxiety go hand in hand. My anxiety was so severe when we would go anywhere, my stomach would turn in knots and I would have to go to the bathroom. This made family time pretty much impossible. I remember attempting to go eat out, and within the first 10 minutes I would be in the restroom. I would be in there several more times before we finished up and left. I remember I would sit there and try to rush my family, I would be having bad hot flashes, and knew as soon as we left my stomach would tell me to get to the bathroom. I would have to race home in hopes I didn't have an accident in my pants. When I worked outside of the home, I would start having panic attacks, they would get so bad I would have to hold on to something to keep from passing out. I knew if I wanted to stop having bad attacks I … [Read more...]

One Of The Hardest Things in Life Losing Weight
One of the easiest things in life is gaining weight! Manufacturing companies have made it a lot easier for people to gain the weight, by marketing items that are loaded with additives, chemicals, and more additives. They have found fun ways to market to our children, and other ways to hid some of the nutrient facts. They use big fancy words so us dumb people think it's okay to consume. I have yo-yoed with my weight for many years, in 8th grade I remember hitting 185 on the scale, it got to the point I refused to step on the scale. Before I knew it I hit 285, this was one of the hardest things for me. I didn't want to be fat, but I was clueless with how to lose weight, I didn't eat much, I walked a lot but nothing seemed to work. So I looked for that miracle drug. What I found was Redux. Redux was my miracle pill, I would take a pill and I would magically lose weight. After stopping the pill due to a recall, I noticed I was still losing weight and managed to go from 285 to … [Read more...]

When it comes to losing weight, I am far from a pro, however, through my trials and errors I have come out a bit more educated on weight loss. I have tried the master cleanse diet, and let me tell you, I felt as though I was starving the whole time. The other ones I haven't tried, because they're a bit over my budget. I have learned though to remove the word diet completely, and turn it into life style change. What does this mean? It means I eat more veggies and fruits, less sweets and boxed meals. I also move more, … [Read more...]
Metformin The Ugh Drug
I like to think of Metformin as the Ugh Drug, because when I know it's that time to take it, I think ugh and I imagine this... I first learned I needed Metformin in January. I was having problems losing weight, and since thyroid disorder runs in my family, tests were ran. Thyroid issues were ruled out, however, the tests showed I was insulin resistant. This explained a lot of things, I also think I may have PCOS because of how my female cycles are, sometimes I have them sometimes I don't. When I have them they last for weeks. The doctor started me out with 500mg XR once a week at bedtime. I did as suggested took it with food. I would wake up the following morning and be running back and forth to the bathroom for several hours... Once I upped my dose to 1000mg XR, the stomach pains got worse and I was in the bathroom for a good 6 hours after waking. If I had plans the following day I had to skip the meds. Life for me SUCKED! I told my doctor what was going on she … [Read more...]

On The Move Again
With having recently lost almost 30 pounds I don't want to gain it all back. So I have broke out the fitbit, and I will be using it daily to make sure I am moving more. I want to try and get in my 10,000 steps a day! Yesterday, I pulled out my shorts I haven't worn in over 5 years, and to my surprise they fit! They were a tight fit, however, they fit. So I have two choices, I can continue to sit on my ass and let the shorts get to tight on me, and gain back all the weight I lost. OR I can keep moving, keep watching what I eat and lose more weight so the shorts are to big. I have decided for the second option. I want another child more than ever and as long as I stay fat, my hormones will stay screwed up, and there will be no chance for another mini me. While life can be tough, I cannot let it win, so I am on the move again. I will work on doing weekly updates to keep myself motivated. I wish we had better places to walk here, like I had in Michigan. However, I will make due … [Read more...]
The Ups and Downs Of Weight Loss
In the past two months, I have lost about 30 pounds, this was done with taking an appetite suppressant, lowering my calorie intake, and working out. The past few weeks have been a struggle, I have been battling eating while depressed and stressed and starving myself at the same time. Yes, I know both are wrong, however, if I eat when I am depressed I will gain all the weight I lost back. If I don't eat when I am depressed aka starve myself, I don't have to worry about gaining the weight back. I have learned portion control is the key to losing weight, which is why I was taking an appetite suppressant, this allowed my stomach to shrink so I don't over eat. Which is a good thing, because some things I could eat and eat even if I was full. I have faith that I will continue to lose weight even though I am no longer taking the appetite suppressant, because my stomach is smaller, I have learned to drink lots of water, and I am slowly starting to workout again on a daily bases. I have … [Read more...]
