What exactly is anxiety? A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Desire to do something, typically accompanied by unease. I have been dealing with anxiety since I was a young child. My earliest attack I was about 6 or so. When I was younger my parents divorced, and growing up for me was hell. It had its good times, but most were bad times. I am slowly learning how to cope and deal with the issues from my childhood. It has been very hard for me to open up to others about my childhood. However, I know I can not completely heal if I don't open up, and get these things off my chest. I know I will always have anxiety, and I will have to learn to live life with my problems. However, I also know that I can find ways to help relax myself when anxiety kicks in. On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the worst, I would have to say my anxiety most times is a 10. If I can catch my anxiety before it … [Read more...]
Back Home
I have been a little less active over here, and I apologize. There has been a lot going on in my personal life, and well sometimes our personal lives have to come first. Shortly after moving back to Michigan, I went to seek professional help. Yup, I am a bit crazy and I knew I needed something. A lot had happened in my childhood, and I hang on to those demons. I need help in letting go, so that I can be a good wife and mother. I got put on some meds to somewhat help me, however, meds are only a temporary fix. I need to learn to cope with what has happened. I was making great progress, then a bunch of crap happened, and I had a set back. Now that we are back in our own home, I can hopefully begin to actually heal from things that have happened in the past, and make my future more positive. I may turn this blog into a more personal blog, so that I can help others in the same situation I face daily. Living with anxiety and depression is not fun, and in order for parents living with … [Read more...]
Coming Soon Recipes!
I love cooking, and soon I will be posting more recipes. I am what you may call an experimental cook. If I don't have much on hand I will make the most with what I have. Sometimes it is a bust and sometimes it is amazing. As soon as we get back to Tennessee I will be working on living a healthier lifestyle. I recently found out I have Arthrosis in both knees, so that means I must lose a lot of weight to help take some weight off my knees. I am on meds that I will probably have to take for the rest of my life. I probably would have never found this out, if we were not staying at my sisters. She has a lot of stairs, and walking them was killing my knees. My doctor wanted to send me in for xrays, and sure enough she seen the problem. I also just found out bad knees run in the family so being fat, and having bad knees is not a good thing. Once I get rid of some of this fat, and am able to move a bit better. I know it won't be hard to get rid of a bunch more fat. My husband is … [Read more...]
Strep Throat
With the weather being so wacky, the kids are all getting sick. We go from 40/50 degrees down to -9 pretty much over night. My daughter slowly got a sore throat, and a lite cough. While my nieces got sore throats, fevers, and pains in their stomachs. I am not sure why my daughter has not got strep but both my nieces currently have it. Do you know how to tell if your child has strep throat, or just a common cold? Strep throat usually gives you certain symptoms. The main being of course a sore throat. My nieces have been fussing for the past few days of sore throats, followed with a temperature, I knew pretty much right away it was strep. You cannot tell a child has strep just by looking at their throat, in my experience with strep, it is usually a sore throat followed by a fever. My nieces have been running a fever off and on for the past 4 days. If strep throat is left untreated they can also develop a nasty ear infection. With the weather changing so much, the kids are bound … [Read more...]
All Natural Inflammation Relief
How many of you suffer from inflammation? My husband is always trying to get me to take different things to help with the pain, but I am one of those people who don't like putting unknown products into my body. I am more of an all natural type. Did you know you can get a drink, that is all natural, and will not only help with inflammation, but also help cleanse your body of toxins? Back in the day, people didn't have all these medicines we have now, they relied on the plants around them to help battle their sicknesses. One plant relied on by the people was a plant called the Nopal cactus, also known as the Opuntia Ficus Indica. The Nopal cactus has been scientifically proven to have rare and potent antioxidants which help your body reduce inflammation. Trivita is a 12-year old company that helps people pursue physical, emotional, and spiritual health. They have also developed a product called Nopalea. Nopalea is a tasty wellness drink that is packed with all the health benefits … [Read more...]

They Say All Things Happen For A Reason
But do they really? Or do we tell ourselves that to help lessen the hurt. For the past 7 months or so my life has been one hell of a roller coaster ride. I cannot really go into details on the blog, like they say somethings are better left unsaid. I sometimes find myself questioning the saying many say. I have always been a strong believer of all things happening for a reason. Sometimes though it's hard as hell to keep that faith. It's hard as hell to think God would put so much on one person; I will admit, I have been at my breaking point a few times. I have been to the point I am ready to say fuck it all... (yes, I said that word.) Being a parent is hard work, you don't only have yourself to think about, you have those that you helped create! Sometimes I wonder if I am still in my postpartum from having my daughter 10 years ago. When she was 2 I was diagnosed with manic depression. I didn't want to believe it so never took the meds. As my daughter got older anxiety started to … [Read more...]
Is Popcorn A Staple In Your Home?
If you were to ask my daughter what her favorite snack is, she would most likely tell you popcorn. Popcorn is one of those snacks, that I must have in the home at all time. Not only for my daughter but also for myself. Have you ever got a late night urge for a snack? Popcorn is lite, not many calories, and will make your tummy happy until morning. I think that is why we all love popcorn in our home, it's a quick and easy snack. One of the great things is, if you also have a sweet tooth you can throw in some mints, and have you a sweet and salty snack, and let me tell you there is nothing better then snuggling with my daughter on the couch and watching a movie while grabbing a handful of popcorn. Recently, my husband talked me into purchasing just the kernels, we know self pop. A lot less butter and salt on it this way, so a lot better for you. Plus did I mention it taste better! I think when you pop it from the bags the popcorn gets soggy faster. I would love to get me a nice air … [Read more...]
2012 Has Only Just Begun
We are only about a week into 2012, and already there has been several suicides. Do you know someone that suffers from depression? If so get them help before it is to late. It seems everything on the news lately has been murder/suicide related. I have personally once been to a point in my life, were I thought there was no hope. All I wanted to do was die, I was 19 at the time. Depression is not fun, it is a sickness. However those with depression are afraid what others will think because of them. They are scared about being looked down upon. So they keep quite, they continue to deal with life, until they can no longer go on. This leads to murder/suicides. This leads to innocent children being killed because life became to hard on their parent. I have learned many things since I thought about taking my life. I have learned things can get better, I have learned all I had to do was ask for help. I have also learned depression is a sickness and if left untreated permanent damage can … [Read more...]
