Computer Training For Dummies

How many of you remember the first time you ever got on a computer? It was 1995 I believe, and it was our lunch break, a bunch of us girls decided we wanted to check out the computer our teacher had in class. She let us connect it to the internet, and we started chatting away with some boys from another school. We thought that was the coolest thing ever. I remember we would go to school early and get on the computers in the library. Back then we really didn't have much for computer training, matter of fact we were the ones teaching the teachers how to use them. Now days they have classes one can take to learn more about computers, and books for those that still are not getting the hang of things. I have taught so many how to do certain things on the computer and online, it just all comes natural to me. One thing people don't realize is, in order to learn something new you have to try. I have ran into a lot of family who will simply not even try. What is the point of learning … [Read more...]

Security At Big Events

If you have ever been to any sort of big event, you know how important it is to have some sort of crowd control. Whether it be security guards walking around, or even police officers on call. You can never be to prepared when it comes to these events. I have been to several Music in the park type events, and have always seen some type of barricades. Having control over the crowd is a must, many people like to see action at these events, so fights and riots can possibly break out. Specially if they're serving alcoholic beverages.  Many event planners will make sure to have stanchions in place for better crowd control. How many of you have been to an event where they have such barricades in place? If not maybe you have watched an award shows on TV such as the Grammys and seen the velvet rope keeping excited fans at bay. If they didn't have such props in place the actors probably would stay at home. If you are every going to throw your own event, it is important to take proper … [Read more...]

The Best Ever Green Bean Casserole

One of my daughter's favorite Thanksgiving side dish is green bean casserole. For awhile she thought the only time you made it was during the holidays. Not only is this dish fairly cheap to make, it is also extremely easy.   Green Bean Casserole Recipe 2 (10.75 ounce) cans Cream of Mushroom Soup 3/4 cup milk 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 8 cups cooked cut green beans 2 2/3 cups French's French Fried Onions Mix cream of mushroom soup, pepper, and milk in a sauce pan. I like to heat this up some so it mixes better with the green beans. Once you have it heated stir in 1 cup of the french's friend onions, and the green beans. Bake in the oven on 350 for about 20 minutes. Then top with the remaining onions, and bake another 5 minutes. This is sure to be a huge hit! … [Read more...]

Finding The Perfect Dress

It has been many years since I have wore a dress. To be honest I think the last time I wore a dress was in high school! My husband has mentioned a few times he would love for me to get a few dresses. We have been together almost 12 years, and he has never seen me in a dress! After looking around, I now know why I have no dresses. Do you know how hard it is to find a nice plus size dress? Thankfully, I cam across a few places online, that have some super cute ones. I am thinking about purchasing a few so that I have something nice to wear on those date nights. After becoming a mom, a lot of my energy and attention went to my daughter. It wasn't until she was almost 2 when I realized I had to give my husband some of my attention as well. Now she is 10 and mom and dad are long over due for some dates without her. One great thing about living back up North, is I can just pretty much leave and not have to worry about her, I have my sister and my dad that keep her entertained. What … [Read more...]

Here Comes Cupid

How many of you go out of your way on Valentines Day for your special love? Every Valentines here I make it a special one, I purchase lingerie, and get the candles out. Splash the room with his favorite fragrance, make him his favorite meal, and kick the daughter out of the house for the night. How many purchase special Valentines lingerie? I think having something new and exciting to wear brings back that spark. We are often stressing most the time about silly things, so when we throw in a little new in the mix it re-kindles our love. Marriage takes a lot of work, and I view this as the work to keep my marriage going strong. Without the extra excitement I think many marriages would fail. If you don't usually do anything special for your loved one on Valentines Day, I suggest you try something new, even if it is a candlelit dinner. Show your husband how much you appreciate everything he does for your family. He deserves it right? What are somethings you do, to show your … [Read more...]

Nancy Sinatra sang a song a number of years ago that opened with “We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout” and went on to bemoan the fact that the fire went out.  Yes, a too hot fire will burn itself out quickly; the secret is to have a strong fuel source to keep the fire burning, slowly and consistently.  The same is true of a long, happy marriage. How to achieve this? Read on. Make sure you know the person you are marrying There is no magic formula to this; sometimes you can know and understand someone almost immediately, and sometimes it takes a while. Stop Those Annoying Bill Collectors!

How many of you have dealt with collection agency harassment? I am sure many of you have whether it really was something you owed money on, or something you once owed money on and had already made arrangements to pay the debt back. Did you know collection agencies are not allowed to call and harass you? Thankfully there are laws out there to protect us from these collection agencies. These laws were put into place so that we wouldn't be harassed, not so that we didn't pay our debts. I believe if you have a debt you should repay it, however, sometimes it can take a while to pay it back. I know with the current bills I have, it is sometimes difficult to pay back on some of those medical bills we have accumulated. I know I owe those bills, however, keeping my lights on take priority over those bills, and it really does the collectors no good to call and threaten me, they will not get their money back any sooner. Trust me if I could make money grow I would. Unfortunately things don't … [Read more...]
