Meal Planning

For many years I have went grocery shopping blinded. What I mean by blinded is not really knowing what I was going to cook through-out the week. At one time we would eat nothing but boxed meals, this made shopping easy. Ground beef, tuna fish, hamburger helper, stuffing, mac and cheese, easy to make, cheap to make, we bought it. It wasn't until recently I learned a little trick about shopping. The key to a healthy dinner is planning out the dinners and having a clue. So I grabbed a clue and I sat down and made out an actual menu. I always thought menus were for school and restaurants, I never thought I would have one in my kitchen. You have no clue about menu planning? Yea know worries me either, but I pretended I did when I went and did mine out. Grab a pen and piece of paper, and make a list of at least 20 different meals. Then take your menu and make a shopping list, this way you have more of a clue, and you're not going to shop blinded. It doesn't matter if you eat … [Read more...]

American Idol Season 12

I never really heard of Nicki Manij until American Idol 12. My daughter was super excited when she heard Nicki was going to be a judge. I had to watch to see who this girl was, and I have to say I am pretty disgusted with the fact American Idol has hired Nicki to be a judge. She has no class, and to be honest she is a bit trashy. Watching the way she is at the table and some of the things she says to the guys makes me sick. What really pissed me off was the remarks she made to the girl with the last name "Bush". If you missed that part you didn't miss much. I know several people have stated they will not be watching this season, and I think it's sad because there's so much talent on the show. I will be watching every week to show my support to the young talent. I heard there is a girl on there that is from my home town, and rumor has it she makes it to the top 20! Would be awesome to have an American Idol from my home town. While I am not still living there my family is, so it … [Read more...]

How To Select The Best Christian Gifts For Him

Close friends, family and loved ones all appreciate gifts that are meaningful and symbolic to them. Gifts that reflect the recipient's faith are a great way to show that you care. Choosing the right Christian gifts for him may seem difficult, but its easy to find a great selection of gifts for him that also relate to his religion of choice. While matters of faith can be a sensitive subject to some, giving a gift of this type is a great way to show that you respect the person's beliefs, whether you share them or not. Birthday's, Christmas or just to show your appreciation are great occasions when a Christian themed gift would be perfect. Men's jewelry, dress accessories and office decor can all be purchased that also represent the Christian faith. If your husband, friend or relative is a Christian man, you can choose from simple symbols of faith such as crucifixes or items featuring portraits of Jesus Christ. Whether you're looking for something that says a little or tells an entire … [Read more...]

What I Want and What I Get

Are two different things! I do plan for 2013 to be a lot different over here on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles. However, I have been sick and trying to juggle everything at once is impossible! I do have some posts in the works, a few recipes, a few helpful tips when it comes to grocery shopping, and even some awesome uses for pinterest. One thing I dislike is I will start a post and in the middle get called away from the computer, the post goes in draft never to be seen again! This weekend I am going to sit down and help those lost in draft find their way back to the top! As Bob the Builder always says... Can We Fix? Yes, We Can! … [Read more...]

What I Want For 2013

I know I have not been the best at blogging over here and for that I am sorry. I get so wrapped up in everything else I do I sometimes forget about Dizzy Mommy Chronicles. Running to blogs, homeschooling, entering giveaways, plus trying to find time for family can be tough. What I would love to happen in 2013 is put more crafting/homeschooling articles on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles. Maybe even some recipes. I have even thought about going a small section for my daughter and having her attempt to blog about once a week as part of her schooling. While 2013 has only just started I have a lot in mind for the new year. A makeover is also possibly in the work. So to start the year off this plans and goals for 2013 on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles are... Make-Over Blog more often on topics such as homeschooling and crafts Attempt to get my daughter blogging on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles Add some recipes maybe a weekly recipe Clean up the site And finally ... Choose Monarch Dental For Your Dental Needs

Guest post written by Katya M Whether you are young or old, going to the dentist regularly is very important. They not only clean your teeth; they also can detect teeth and gum problems before they get too serious. If you are currently looking for a new dentist, you should consider Monarch Dental. It has been around for nearly 15 years and is the largest provider of support services to dental groups in the United States. The staff members will make you feel very comfortable during your first visit and treat you with a lot of respect. During your first visit, a dentist will give you a complete oral examination and possibly clean your entire mouth. If he finds any problems, such as gum disease, tooth decay or oral cancer, he will suggest the type of treatment you will need. The typical first appointment should not last longer than an hour and a half. Make sure to bring your dental x-rays and insurance card with you to make things go by faster. Crochet Monster High Hat Pattern

I have come to learn how to crochet, and I have to say I am loving it! I started out slow, first with some dish scrubbies and wash clothes. Now I am working on making hats. I know I still need lots of practice so I have started to make the family some hats. What better way to practice then making hats for the family. My first attempt was a fail. Made one for my husband, well I am only just learning how to read patterns, and let's just say every time I went around the hat I managed to add another stitch. I have now completed four hats, the last three have been pretty awesome, two of which were monster high hats, the first one isn't as good as the second... First attempt... Second attempt... Before I started I looked for a pattern. The only thing I could find was people selling them, so I decided to just pretend I knew what I was doing. I used the pattern at Happy in Red as a guide. However, the first time using this pattern it was a bust, so I made some changes to … [Read more...]

Top 5 Christmas Songs

I haven't really been in the Christmas spirit for the past few years. Last year we didn't bother to wrap gifts, and this year we just gave our daughter things as soon as we got them. As she gets older Christmas isn't as exciting. Next year we are doing a traditional Christmas, tree, lights, presents wrapped and all! We will also be playing MY favorite holiday songs. Which include... #1) Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer #2) Frosty the Snowman #3) Deck the Halls #4) Silent Night #5) Jingle Bells What are some of your favorite Christmas songs? … [Read more...]
