Do You Have A FishyPic

My husband loves to fish, with the weather warming up, I am sure he will be at the lake or river most of the summer. Yesterday we went to the river, and while we didn't get to get any fishypic we did get to get some beautiful pictures of the river and the sun setting and we had a blast with some friends. I always love seeing fish pictures, I have noticed the guys around here though like to hold the fish a certain way to make the fish look bigger than it truly is. My husband has a friend that is good at that one! We like to not only get pictures of my husband and daughter with their fishes, we also like to have them held up to the tape measure so you can actually see the size of the fish. They haven't caught to many trophy size fish, but they have caught some close to it. My husband is working on his trophy bass, and he says once he gets it, he will be having a taxidermy  mount it for him, so we can hang it on the wall. I am not much for fishing but I love going out by the … [Read more...]

Taco Pie Via Pinterest

As I said not long ago, I was going to go ahead, and do some posts about what I have found on pinterest, my experience with making it, and whether or not my family liked it. Last night for dinner we went with the Taco Pie that I first discovered on pinterest. Does that not look so tasty! We were wanting something quick and easy and this looked like it would do the job, and since we all love Mexican foods we had a feeling this was going to be a hit! We made the guacamole sauce fresh instead of purchasing from the store. We then followed the recipe, and within about 30 minutes including cooking the chicken dinner was complete! We did forget to drain the chilis, so we did have a little liquid in the mix, over all though this was so yummy, and so filling we will be having it again! While it didn't look as pretty as the image from pinterest, it was still ever so good. So this was one of those recipes we will be keeping around, and we will be making again in the … [Read more...]

Dark Chocolate Cookie Recipe

As I sat here, I started to get a sweet tooth. I decided I would Google chocolate cookies. I mean I had everything! I came across this recipe for Chocolate Cookies with Hershey Chocolate. After looking at the recipe I decided I would alter it a bit for my own needs. I personally felt there were to much of some ingredients in it, and I only had self-rise flour. Chewy Chocolate Cookies 1 1/2 cups Self-Rise Flour 2 Sticks Unsalted Butter (softened) 3/4 cups Sugar 1/2 Brown Sugar 2 tsp Vanilla Extract 2 Eggs 1/2 cup Hershey Dark Cocoa With a mixer, mix butter, sugar, and brown sugar together. Once everything is mixed add two eggs. Mix well! Slowly mix in your dark cocoa and flour. I mixed cocoa fixed then added the flour. Once everything is mixed well add the vanilla and mix a bit more. Spoon on a cookie tray, and bake in the oven on 350 for about 10 minutes. Let cool, then make the next batch, this recipe makes about 2 dozen. You can add it to a recipe calorie … [Read more...]

With loving pinterest, and doing all my meal planning based on pinterest. I have decided I am going to do a new post whenever I try a new recipe via pinterest. I have learned so much while using pinterest, and I have learned how to make some yummy but healthy sweet treats. Where To Get Free SIM Cards

With technology moving onward, those who are already struggling in a rough economy are being left behind. One of the main reasons for this, is many view cellphones as a luxury not a necessity, and when times are tough they get their cellphones cut off. Are you one of those struggling to make ends meet? What if I told you, you could get free SIM cards and pay as you go. When my husband and I started to struggle we had no choice but to get rid of our cellphones. Water and the electric became more important. We decided we would get a prepaid plan where we could pay as we went. One thing I noticed when we did have a paid plan, most the time we didn't use it. Our main reason for cellphones were so I had away to get in touch with my husband when he was working or out with his friends. Now that we both work from home cellphones took a back burner. I was surprised when we decided to get a prepaid phone so that we did have a way to contact one another it was cheaper. We were paying $50 a … [Read more...]

Monday Blues

As I sit here looking at the Calendar I see we are already almost done with February, it seems like 2013 only just begun yet it's going pretty fast. Sometimes I just wish time would slow down a bit so I could enjoy life more with my family. I wake up do what I need to do on the computer, and by the time I am remotely done, the day is almost over. Mondays to many mean a new start of the school week or work week. With being homeschoolers and with working from the home Mondays are nothing but another day to us, however, I sit here with the Monday Blues. I guess you can say it's because Monday is when I get the majority of the work done that I put off during the weekend. Working from home can sometimes be more stressful than working at an office. How many of you often get Monday Blues? What are some things you do to help? I do something I shouldn't and I usually end up over on pinterest, to look at all the neat things I would love to one day try. … [Read more...]

Healthy Eating

Eating healthy can be a challenge! Not long ago my husband and I decided it was time to make a change in what we ate. We both felt run down, and had no energy to do the things we enjoyed. One of our biggest weaknesses was all those products that were loaded in carbs. Pasta, pizza, bread, if it had carbs in it, we probably loved it. With making changes we decided we would get products that were a bit better for us. We decided when we made pizza's we would use low carb pita bread. I found this to not only be healthier, but as a busy mom, it's also takes less time. With making smaller pizza's everyone can have what they want on them, with no one fussing about what ingredients are on the pizza. While we still are eating those carbs we love, we are being more creative, and eating products lower in carbs. I have found out through trial and error, that eating healthy doesn't mean you have to remove all the foods you love, it only means you have to choose healthier versions of those … [Read more...]

Protect Yourself From Identity Theft

With technology advancing more and more people are using credit cards and other ways electronically to make purchases via the Internet.  This is opening people up to getting not only their credit card numbers taken, but also allowing hackers to take on their whole identity. Once they assume your identity they will start destroying your life. Some will attempt to get loans in your name, make big purchases via the Internet with your credit cards, and some of these thieves have even attempted to make even bigger purchases using your identity such as purchasing homes and cars. The sad thing about this, is often times this activity is gone unnoticed. Since technology is advancing, it is becoming easier for those hackers to assume our identities. Thankfully there are companies out there such as Lifelock, that will alert us when suspicious activity is being made using our identity. If you want to make sure your identity is protected you can sign up for Lifelock. Make sure to use a … [Read more...]
