What Is The Weather Like Where You Are

It has been miserable here in Tennessee the past few days! He have hit highs at almost 90 degrees, sad part it is only April. I am not looking forward to Summer, and I will be getting the pool up SOON. Today our daughter and the dog played in the sprinkler, that is how hot it was. We have been having to use the A/C because it just gets to hot and stuffy. That is one thing I don't like about Tennessee is the humidity. I could handle the heat as long as I could breath. We do have thunderstorms coming in, which will drop the temps by a lot, but for how long I have no idea. What is the weather like where you are? Still getting snow? What about the colder temps? Send some coolness my way please! On a different note, who all is ready for the great movies about to hit the theaters? My family is wanting to see The Lone Ranger! I have always been a fan on Johnny Depp, so I know we will love this movie! Check out the trailer below, and mark those calendars it hits theaters July … [Read more...]

Chocolate Pudding Recipe

Often times I find myself sitting here with a sweet tooth. Nine times out of ten we don't have much in the house for sweets. With living a healthier lifestyle we don't bring in a bunch of junk. I remember in the day we always had ice cream in the freezer and the pantry was stocked with the latest junk food. Now we have whole wheat products and veggies. Who can go wrong with some yummy veggies, right? However, veggies cannot settle a sweet tooth. For this I like to keep some great baking products on hand. Last night one of those sweet tooth urges came on and in the kitchen I went. Chocolate pudding was on my mind, and in about 15 minutes I had it in the freezer chilling. Have a sweet tooth, but no sweets in the house? Have milk, cocoa, sugar, vanilla extract, and cornstarch? Well fear not your sweet tooth will be happy in a moment. Chocolate Pudding from scratch recipe. What you need: 1/3 cup sugar 1/3 cup cocoa 1/4 cup cornstarch 3 cups of Milk 1 tsp Vanilla … [Read more...]

You maybe saying to yourself "I am a small local business, why do I need to market on-line". While you maybe only a small local business, how many people do you think you reach in a given day? How many of you purchase the pre-made baskets? I prefer to make my own up, this way I know I am getting my monies worth. I normally stick with themes, this year we are only going to get our daughter a monster high doll and call it good. When she was younger we would do themes such as spongebob, dora, crayola, and so forth. I always loved shopping for her Easter basket goodies. What To Do When Your Home Has A Waterfall On The Side

While waterfalls are often beautiful, a waterfall from the side of your home isn't a very pretty site. A few years back my parents arrived home to a busted water pipe. With having a two story home, the top half in which they live in, the water was pouring down the side of the siding. My mom's first reaction was to shut the water OFF, her second move was calling the plumbers. While to this day it's a story they can laugh about, at the time it wasn't a very funny story. When you live in areas of the world that get a bit colder, you need to have a way to keep your pipes from freezing. If you don't then chances are you will have frozen pipes. If the water doesn't have an escape once it thaws out, this will cause the pipes to burst! Once the water was off, the plumber was called, my parents slowly made there way inside. They discovered the pipe wasn't busted in just one spot, it was busted in a few different spots! My parents have a seven bedroom, three bathroom home. Four … [Read more...]

At What Age Should a Girl Start Shaving

At what age should a girl start shaving? I think this is something we all ask ourselves when our little girls start growing into young ladies. My daughter is 11 and she has asked when can she start shaving her legs. While I know the time is probably now, I am trying to hold off as long as I can. With being home-schoolers, I am hoping we can hold off for a few more months. When she was younger she would take my shaving cream and put it on her legs, then use her finger in a shaving motion to remove the shaving cream from her legs. Now that she is getting older, I want to make sure she has all the tools needed to make shaving as easy as possible for her. This would mean she needs a good razor, shaving cream and lotion. With Easter coming, I may just surprise her with a shaving Easter Basket. If you have a preteen that is also ready to shave make sure you educate them on shaving. Don't just give them a razor and let them go at it, let them know shaving isn't a race, they need to … [Read more...]

Pinterest Desserts!

Almost everything I do in the kitchen, comes from Pinterest! I have made it a habit to do a large part of my monthly meal planning based off meals I have seen on pinterest. Each month I will start a new pinterest board, and I will go through and pin things that look ever so yummy, and things I think my family would enjoy. With eating healthier, it has been a challenge for me, to cook meals that are rich in flavor, and low in calories. What makes things even more difficult, is I am a sweets lover. My main downfall is chocolate! So when I see a "healthy" dessert on pinterest, I of course have to check it out. I mean what type of mom and wife would I be if I deprived my family of sweets as well! When I found the Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie on pinterest I knew I was going to be making that for dessert that night! One thing I like about this dessert is I can have a piece and not feel guilty afterwards. Now if I don't stop at one piece then yes I can feel guilty! I also … [Read more...]

I LOVE me some sweets. My waistline on the other hand doesn't! So when I get the urge for something sweet, I try to find something to make that is a bit on the healthy side. Last night was one of those nights, I wanted something sweet, but also healthy and filling. So what did I do, I took to pinterest. What can I say I love me some pinterest! With only having two ingredients, and healthy ones at that I took to the kitchen. I had some dark chocolate chips so I did add about a handful into the mix as well. I then popped them in the oven and baked them. Once they were done, we of course had to have some! My honest opinion on this sweet treat, it was a bit mushy, and if it didn't have the chocolate chips in it, I don't think I would have liked them. The chocolate chips gave it a simple yummy twist. Have a sweet tooth with not much in the cupboard, whip you up some of these yummy healthy cookies. Make sure to add you some chocolate chips or you might not think they're all … [Read more...]
