It’s That Time Of Year

It seems like summer vacation just FLIES by, school has started back up for the kids in my area, with being home schoolers we decide when we go back, while I try to keep it about the same time the public schools does, however, this week the public school days were a bit off so we decided we will be starting on the 12th. I cannot believe my baby girl is in 6th grade already! We have been homeschooling for going on 7 years! WOW talk about times flying for sure. We didn't always home school, we attempted to go the public school route, but things were happening in kindergarten that shouldn't have been, and the school system found it to be funny. So after battling with the school for 3 months, we decided we would pull her and go out on our own. This was the best decision we made when it came to our daughter's education. Not only do we decide what she learns, we also have the freedom we need as a family. If we want to head out of town, we can! Nothing like sitting at a campsite … [Read more...]

What to do When Life Throws a Curve Ball

If you are breathing I am sure you have had your far share of curve balls thrown at you. We are a family that is a strong believer of God, we don't believe in the bible or the churches, but when it comes to God and a higher power we do believe. We also are strong believers that all things happen for a reason, what those reasons maybe we are uncertain, and often times we never figure out why the things happened. My family has been thrown a curve ball these past few months, and we are struggling to find out way through it, we know that God is watching over us, and we know he is doing what he can to help. If you have noticed I haven't blogged over here in awhile, it can be a bit hard keeping up with two different sites, if I had someone I could trust I would allow them to run Dizzy Mommy Chronicles, but with putting my trust into someone and they doing me dirty it's hard to find people who are not just out for themselves. So what do you do when a curve ball is thrown at you, and … [Read more...]

Working Out and Start Slow

Working out can be a challenge, if you're like me and a couch potato. With working online, you will often find me sitting on the couch with my laptop in my lap. I will either be typing away on blog posts, or entering giveaways. It wasn't until recently, I learned how important it is, to find time for me. Whether is be 5 minutes or 55 minutes, it's import I workout everyday. When I first got on my journey to become healthier, I could hardly make it 5 minutes, now that I have been working out daily, I am working out 20 minutes at a time. This is huge, whenever you make a big change in your life, it's important that you tackle it in small baby steps. A child doesn't start walking by running first. Okay, some do, but you get what I am saying, small, steady steps, and you will reach the goals you are seeking. Trust me, once you get going you won't want to stop. I challenge you to give it a try! After you start working out daily, you will start to change how you eat and what you … [Read more...]

MyGuestBlog.com Is It Worth It? #MyGuestBlog

Recently, I decided to start accepting guest articles from MyGuestBlog.com. If you've never heard of this site before it's a site, that offers free content for your site, through different guest bloggers. I thought this would be a great way to get more content on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles. However, I was skeptical about doing this at first, so I decided to go small, and I accepted 3 posts. Shortly after receiving those post and publishing them, I received a notification from Google stating this... Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links on http://dizzymommychronicles.com/ I then noticed I had lost PR to Dizzy Mommy Chronicles! This was all due to accepting free guest posts via MyGuestBlog.com, this didn't just happen to me, this happened to several other bloggers as well. When we reached out to Ann, the creator/founder of MyGuestBlog.com our comments were removed. If Ms. Ann, felt as though her site is honest and followed Google guidelines, and she had nothing to … [Read more...]

Dog and Beth: On The Hunt

I have been a fan of Dog and Beth Chapman, since they first aired on A&E back in 2004. At the time their show was called Dog the Bounty Hunter. Duane Chapman and the crew became a household name when they fly to Mexico on the hunt for Andrew Luster. On June 18th, 2003; Duane Chapman made international news when he captured Andrew Luster, however, with the laws in Mexico this was an illegal capture. This capture made the crew famous, and their reality show was born. August 31st, 2004 was the first airing of Dog the Bounty Hunter, however, with the show would come family drama, and the crew still were not cleared of the charges stemming from the arrest of Andrew Luster. In 2006, the boys (Duane, Tim, and Leland) finally faced a judge, and they were looking at 3 years in a Mexico prison. Although, Andrew Luster was a fugitive, under Mexico laws he was protected from Bounty Hunters. On August 2, 2007 all charges against the crew were dropped. However, this was still a very … [Read more...]

ABC Soaps Back On Air

If you're a fan of ABC Soaps, then you know All My Children and One Life to Live were canceled by ABC. All My Children last aired the end of 2011, and One Life to Live was off the air the beginning of 2012. The cancellation of these shows, hit the soap opera community hard. Several Facebook groups popped up, and the boycotting began to try and save the soap operas before they were off the air for good. Boycotter's took to contacting companies that advertised with ABC during the hours All My Children and One Life to Live were on. Some companies ignored the calls and emails, while others wanted their few minutes of fame, and pulled their ads from ABC. A lot believe companies went this route to get free marketing. I honestly, cannot blame them, the fans were on a mission to save their soap operas and they were not going to back down. The fans were giving praise to the companies standing up to ABC and being there for the fans. Shortly, after the shows were canceled it was rumored … [Read more...]

End of 5th Grade

Wow, I cannot believe it, we only have 17 more school days until we are officially on Summer break! It always seems like the school year flies. One thing I like about being a homeschooling family, is that we have so much freedom, and we can make everyday living a part of schooling. This year our daughter started too cook, she started to learn about green living, and she's working on a garden with her dad. So even though the school calendar year is over, our daughter will still be learning. That's a great part about home schooling, we can sneak in schooling everyday, and since it's fun, our children have no clue that it's school. Where as if she was going to public school her brain would be on standstill until the following school year. This homeschooling journey has not been an easy one, but I don't regret for one minute that we as a family decided to go this route. Homeschooling families are sometimes looked down upon, we are often judged, and people like to talk about how we … [Read more...]
