Searching For The Best Insurance

As parents we want to make sure our children have the best medical coverage possible. We want to assure ourselves if something were to happen we know they will get the best care. Often times our employer will offer our families a medical insurance plan. However, in my experience it has been just basic insurance with a high co pay. When my husband had medical insurance on us through his employer it covered very little. We were paying $60 a month for the insurance plus we had a $30 co-pay every time we went to the doctor. We decided it was time to look into other insurance coverage when we received a bill showing the insurance company only covered .27 cents of a $151.00 bill. Trying to find cheap inexpensive medical coverage that is also good is not easy. However, as long as you know where to look you will have no trouble finding coverage that will be perfect for your family. One thing to remember when looking for insurance is how good it is for children. Some insurance maybe … [Read more...]

Thinking About Quitting

It won't be long and it will be time to make those New Year's Resolutions. How many of you are planning to quit smoking in 2012? I know one of the two main resolutions are weight loss, and to quit smoking. Both are difficult to do, especially solo. However, with some will power and a lot of hard work, both can be done. If you are serious about kicking the bad habit, maybe ask for an e-cigarette this Christmas. I have heard many great success stories from others who have used this method to quit. There are a lot of great companies out there that sell the e-cigarettes. If you are not sure which company would be best for you, you can always do a search for "electronic cigarette company", and do some research. When doing your research look for companies that guarantee their product. I have always found the companies that do offer some sort of customer guarantee  are the better companies, because they are standing behind their product. I know my sister is trying to quit, and she is … [Read more...]

What Should I Do With My Savings?

When you were little you might have had a jar or a piggy bank filled with coins that you hid under your mattress or in your closet. This might have been an effective saving strategy when you were young, but now that you are older and your savings fund amounts to more than small change it’s time to start thinking of a different way to hold onto your money. Your savings are important, and where to keep them should be carefully considered. If your savings are not in the optimal account you could be missing out on a lot of money in gathering interest. Whether your savings are short term, mid-term or long term, it is a good idea to keep them somewhere that is accessible, safe, and will allow them to grow. The amount of interest that your chunk of savings will accumulate depends on which type of financial institution you use and which type of account you place the money in. You will also need to think about how accessible you want your money to be. Are you saving this amount of money … [Read more...]

Kids Say the Funniest Things

Tonight as I was about ready to cook dinner, my daughter informs me she has a loose tooth. My remark was "wonderful, I hope the tooth fairy knows where you moved too." She comes into the kitchen and says "I know you're the tooth fairy, or else you wouldn't have said wonderful, in a sarcastic way. Plus, I was saying Shaytard's on youtube, and they were going into sontards room, to remove the tooth and put money under his pillow" Sweet, now that she knows I am the tooth fairy I get to save all my dollars, and know she knows I am Santa as well so no need for that fat ol man to upset her on Christmas if he doesn't bring her what she wants. At what age did you stop believing in Santa? Have your kids got to that age yet? I think my daughter has known for some time, every since she was 6, she has been telling me it was impossible for there to even be a Santa. Now I know for certain my baby at the age of 10 doesn't believe in Santa. Now let's hope she doesn't tell her baby … [Read more...]

What is the Best Place to Make Surveys

With 2012 less than 2 months away, I want to start making plans for what 2012 will bring to the site. I would love to have the input of my readers, to see what y'all are wanting to see more of. I have been thinking about posting a survey once a month or so. This will help me find out what all of you are wanting to see on Dizzy Mommy Chronicles. Whether is be more recipes, or more reviews/giveaways. Maybe one month work it to where I offer more family friendly recipes, and the next month more family friendly products. This way it will help spread out the content a little better. Or I can do so many recipes a week, and so many reviews a week. I have been leaning towards using survey monkey, I have seen a lot of other bloggers using it, and over all it looks like it is pretty simple to use. Has anyone personally used survey monkey? If so how do you like it, is it pretty simple to use, or one of those things that would give me a headache trying to figure it out. I am also thinking … [Read more...]

3 Tips to Prevent a Stressful Long Distance Move

If you have ever moved whether is be across town, or across country, you know how stressful it can be. Not only do you have to pack, you also have to clean as you go. If you have children, it is twice as bad. The reason being, you have to pack for more people. Moving can be extremely stressful. We recently did a long distance move, and I can tell you this, I wish we would have hired a long distance moving company. Long distance moves are not only stressful on the adults but also the children. Chances are they're leaving all their friends behind, and that alone can be scary. A few tips I have learned during this moving trip that may help you have a less stressful move are... #1 Plan a head, make sure you have everything taken care of months before the move, slowly pack that way you are not rushed. When we decided to move we had less than 2 months, to pack and get everything cleaned up. Not fun, this left my husband and I fighting due to being stressed. I would have much … [Read more...]

Judge William Adams a Family Court Judge Beats Daughter

Please be advised the video below is disturbing... What you just seen is our justice system at work. In the above video is a family court judge from Texas, he beat his 16 year old daughter with a belt, for almost 8 minutes because she used the internet. This should NEVER be allowed no matter who the parent is, yes I believe sometimes children need their behinds spanked, however, I do not believe a belt is needed. This is what is wrong with our justice system we are getting corrupt officials into office. With going through the family courts when I was younger, and having friends and family going through them now, they are not their for the children, if you do a search on this judge you will see in many cases where he favored the abusive parent. When will we say enough is enough. It is time we get the corrupt judges out, and the ones that give a damn about the safety and welfare of our children in. When I lived in Tennessee, I seen in the paper where a female judge … [Read more...]
