Getting Those Air Conditioners Serviced

Our weather has been so bizarre these past years. The other day here in Tennessee we were at 75, it was A/C weather here, then the next it dropped to 37 and was time for the heat. In West Palm beach area it is currently 63 and it's not even noon! It won't be long and we all will be needing to make sure our air conditioners are up to par to handle the Summer heats. We all know with the mild winter we have been having we are in for a rough Summer. If our air conditioners are not working properly we can expect to be miserable. So before we get to that point it is always a smart idea to get those air conditioners serviced so you can be certain you will NOT have a broke down unit. If you are new to the west palm beach area, and not sure who you would contact to make sure your air conditioner is good to go, a quick search of " ac repair west palm beach " will give you a good idea of who to contact. Within the next few months we will be doing the same thing, because I can already see … [Read more...]

All The Old Faces Coming Back To General Hospital

Over the past few years the Soap Opera industry has taken a nose dive. We went from having several different soaps on several networks. However, the price to produce the soaps has gone up, and the number of us watching the soaps has fallen. This is due to those stay at home moms having to get jobs to help the family. The networks decided it would be best to cancel our soaps, and replace them with shows that would be cheaper to produce. This lead to a lot of pissed off fans. Which called for a boycott of any product that was aired during the times our soaps were to be aired. This later lead to an online company deciding to pick up the two ABC soaps, and for General Hospitals ratings to go through the roof! This has lead to General Hospital being save from being canned for the time being. Many new and old faces have been coming to Port Charles, I loved that they did bring over some of the One Life to Live stars. I am a fan of both Starr and Todd. In the next few months we … [Read more...]

Are You Thinking About Changing Careers?

How many of you hate what you do? How many of you wish you were doing something else? It's never to late to switch careers. There's a famous saying said by Confucius who was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, he said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I heard this saying many times growing up, I never listened to it and now I preach this saying to my daughter in hopes that when she gets older, she will go for something so loves doing, even if it means she has to go to college for awhile. I want her to not only be successful, but to love what she does, so she doesn't have to work a day in her life, because she will love her work. With having worked different jobs in different fields, now that I work from home, I do love what I am doing. I do wish though that I knew more than one language so that I could expand what I do. If you know more than one language and you are good working with people, you may want to look into getting a … [Read more...]

The Chew

I don't watch the chew often, once in a blue moon I will turn the TV on before General Hospital, and I will listen to whatever is on while I enter giveaways. My normal morning routine, is enter giveaways, while keeping an eye on my email, then getting on to the blog stuff. If I have reviews to do, I work on them, I work on regular posts, and I browse facebook. As I would sit here and listen to the guy talking on the chew, the one behind the scenes I knew the voice sounded familiar. I thought it was the voice of Gordon Elliott. Gordon Elliott was the host of a popular talk show back in the 90's. While I always thought that was the voice I wasn't certain. So I decided to look it up, and I was right! Gordon Elliot is the man behind the Chew. I am glad to see I am not going crazy. I am personally not a fan of the chew, mainly because it took my soaps off the air. If you're a soap fan like I am, All My Children and One Life to Live will be coming back online, not sure of … [Read more...]

Video Chat Light Got You Down

With being 800 miles from my family we tend to take to video chatting. The other day when my daughter was chatting with my nieces via skype, my nieces kept telling my daughter they couldn't see her. She too was having an issue seeing them, however, she didn't say anything, she was more wanting the voice. With video chatting becoming more and more popular having good lighting is a must! With people of all ages taking to video chat to keep in contact with family members from all over the world, being in a dim room can ruin the quality of the chat. I would rather focus my time on catching up verses trying to make out the image on my computer. Thankfully, they have products out there that will help improve the lighting so you don't have to chat during daylight hours in the front yard! Products such as video chat light can help brighten you up! You can then chat with your loved ones, and not look like you're in the dark. How many of you use your computer or iPad to chat with loved … [Read more...]

Seeing The Damage

Today is the day we get to go see about getting our taxes started! We get to see what the damage is and how much we are getting back. I honestly didn't think we would get anything back since we don't pay in. However, since we are in a small tax bracket we will get enough back to pay what we owe and to get some back. Taxes are so confusing to me, over the past 9 years I have always done our taxes, this year I am not even going to attempt to figure them out. We will be going in to get them done, I am only hoping we get enough back to pay the car off. That would be awesome!!! Paying the car off means I will be able to enjoy some much needed time away from the computer and more time with my family! A large part of our time is spent working on the computer. We need to reverse those roles, and spend a large part of our time off the computer. Since winter has been here I have gained about 15 pounds, and I am already big, so this needs to be tackled and soon. When we were in … [Read more...]

Baby Brother, I Love You

In 1988, we lost my baby brother to a house fire, I was only 9 at the time, and I have to say that news hit hard. My baby brother was 4 years old at the time, and the doctors I speak with today, believe that situation and the events that took place during the time is what has caused my PTSD. It's so hard to believe my brother is gone, and I often wonder how life would be if he was still here. Tomorrow is his birthday, and he would have been 29 years old. That means he has been gone for almost 25 years. It really don't seem that long ago, I miss my brother dearly. I know all things happen for a reason, and my brother was put on earth to help my mom cope with things happening at the time in her life. I also know my baby brother is looking over my family, and I often see signs. I am a strong believer that our loved ones show us signs in our everyday lives, to show us they're still with us. I love you baby brother and I miss you so dearly.   … [Read more...]

Stresses of Home Remodeling

Home remodeling can be extremely stressful. However, it doesn't have to be, if you plan ahead of time, and have everything laid out the way you would like it, remodeling can be fun and simple. One key to having a little less stress when it comes to remodeling is being organized. When it comes time to redo a room in my home, I like to use the web as my friend. Having access to many different home remodeling sites takes window shopping to a whole new level. One can have more of an idea of what is out there before they start making those purchases. In the next few years we will be remodeling the living room again. It has been about 7 years since we redid the living room, however, the paint is needing some love, and I am thinking about also adding some new furniture! My husband and I have been thinking about ditching the paint, and going with a wallcovering. I have found some super cute wallcovers at www.atriumwallcoverings.com. Wallcovers standout more than paint, and this … [Read more...]

Using Pinterest For Meal Planning

Meal planning can be tough especially if you're so use to cooking from a box. When I decided to do a menu I had no idea what I was going to cook. When we turned to eating healthier, we went to mostly all chicken. Normal way to cook our chicken was little seasonings and bake it in the oven. We then would add a side and some veggies. Eating the same thing, the same way over and over again can get a bit boring. So this month I wanted to switch things up on my family. I wanted to bring new meals to the table that were still tasty and a bit more healthier for us. What better way to make a menu by hitting up the one and only Pinterest! As I browsed all the yummy photos to find different meals to cook, by tummy started talking to me, but in the end it was so worth it. I had a menu and I had a shopping list, only thing left was going to the store. I found I spent less when I had more of an idea of what I was going to be making through-out the month. As you can see, you can find so … [Read more...]
