Saving Money On Prescription Eyeglasses

I don’t think no one will argue the fact that glasses to some people are like wheels to cars. They’re a must have item to some, and the price of these must have items, can be pretty expensive. In the state of TN if you wear glasses you must get an eye exam every year. Why? Because your eye prescription is only good for a year, then it expires. Eye exams a lone can cost an arm and a leg if you don’t have insurance.

Every two years I am supposed to get a field vision test done, well without insurance this test is $150!!! That is not including the eye exam of $85. Plus, you have to factor in the cost of prescription glasses. By the time we are all said and done, IF I was to take the route of doing everything at my local eye doctor it would cost me close to $450 a year.

I don’t know about you, but I know of a bunch of other things, I could spend that money on… for starters a mini vacation for the family. So when it comes time to get my eye exam, I am the one opting out of getting their glasses, and going online to find cheap eyeglasses. By going this route, I save my family a ton of money, plus I can get a few different pair. I mean who wants to wear the same pair every day for a year?

One thing I love about places such as Zenni Opticals, is they know how to help one save money on items that are NEEDED. They do this by cutting out that third party, and producing their own products. Which results in more business for them, and less money out of the customers pocket.

What are some ways you save money on things that are needed?
