Local Stores

One thing I will miss when I go back to Tennessee, is having so many stores at my finger tips. I am literally within 5 miles from stores such as Kmart, Target, Meijers, JC Penneys, Goodwill, and so much more. In order for me to shop at most of the stores around me now, I would have to make that blah trip to Memphis! If you know me you know that I dislike Memphis, it scares me. I know I have to get use to it sooner than later. One thing I have noticed though about one certain store is they like to mark items one price, go through cross them out and up the price. I have noticed this on several items. For instance some shoes I bought my daughter, they came in a box marked 16.99. I guess the store didn't feel $16.99 was a good price and the upped the price to $20. I took 2 pairs of shows to the front with me, I was waiting for them to ring up the $20, then I was going to throw a fit because they were marked $16.99. Luckily for e, and them they were on mark down so I got them for $10. … [Read more...]

Michigan Gets Hit With Snow

I think this is the most snow we have had so far this year at one given time. The ground is covered and it is still coming down pretty hard. I hope it all melts soon, I really had snow. I mean it is pretty too look at, but I don't like having it for long. I guess I got spoiled with Tennessee winters. Oh how I miss Tennessee... However, I do have to say the blizzard look of the snow falling is pretty. The kids all were pretty excited because they didn't have school. My daughter will not be happy when she wakes up and finds she still has school work. One great thing about home-schooling. When days like this occur she wishes she did go to public school. Next year we will be trying something a bit different. We will be doing public school but online, so we still will be homeschooling. She will just have an actual teacher she can goto if she needs help with anything. We are getting into algebra and it is yuck. How is the weather were you are today? … [Read more...]

Ready for Summer

How many of you are ready for Summer? As I sit here I am freezing my behind off. It's mostly my hands, I need me some gloves I can wear while I type. That would rock! Things in my life are still way crazy, I am hoping to find out more about the situation within the next week. Please pray for good news, not sure how much more bad news I can handle. I wish I was here in Michigan for more of the Summer last year, because I know Summer back in Tennessee is going to be blah. I been a part of those Summers for many years, and well yea! I am not looking for the storms though, my family all think the storms in Michigan are going to be bad this Summer because of the winter. I went and bought my daughter some snow pants, and well she didn't get to wear them to play in the snow. I think we got less then 2 feet in total all winter. That is super not normal for Michigan. I know these things because I lived here over 21 years! I am honestly ready to go back to Tennessee though, Michigan … [Read more...]

Husband

Author: Joseph Sandoval I never sleep as well if my husband is out of town. He is on a plane right now to Kentucky. I have always heard that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and it is so true! Even after seven years of marriage, as soon as he is gone I start to miss him. When he is here, he drives me crazy stealing the covers in bed and snoring! But when he is gone I can't sleep because he isn't next to me! I don't know what I would do if he had to go out of town for more than one night at a time. One night is enough for me to miss him and be excited for him to be home. I am a total sap, I even went to satellitetvlouisvilleky.net to find out what would be on TV where he is. I thought if we couldn't be together at least we could watch the same show or movie and talk about it on the phone! I know, I know, I am a hopeless romantic! … [Read more...]

Strep Throat

With the weather being so wacky, the kids are all getting sick. We go from 40/50 degrees down to -9 pretty much over night. My daughter slowly got a sore throat, and a lite cough. While my nieces got sore throats, fevers, and pains in their stomachs. I am not sure why my daughter has not got strep but both my nieces currently have it. Do you know how to tell if your child has strep throat, or just a common cold? Strep throat usually gives you certain symptoms. The main being of course a sore throat. My nieces have been fussing for the past few days of sore throats, followed with a temperature, I knew pretty much right away it was strep. You cannot tell a child has strep just by looking at their throat, in my experience with strep, it is usually a sore throat followed by a fever. My nieces have been running a fever off and on for the past 4 days. If strep throat is left untreated they can also develop a nasty ear infection. With the weather changing so much, the kids are bound … [Read more...]

All Natural Inflammation Relief

How many of you suffer from inflammation? My husband is always trying to get me to take different things to help with the pain, but I am one of those people who don't like putting unknown products into my body. I am more of an all natural type. Did you know you can get a drink, that is all natural, and will not only help with inflammation, but also help cleanse your body of toxins? Back in the day, people didn't have all these medicines we have now, they relied on the plants around them to help battle their sicknesses. One plant relied on by the people was a plant called the Nopal cactus, also known as the Opuntia Ficus Indica. The Nopal cactus has been scientifically proven to have rare and potent antioxidants which help your body reduce inflammation. Trivita is a 12-year old company that helps people pursue physical, emotional, and spiritual health. They have also developed a product called Nopalea. Nopalea is a tasty wellness drink that is packed with all the health benefits … [Read more...]

Headed Back South

Things didn't work the way they were supposed to up here in Michigan, I am going to miss my family more than anything, however, we must go back to Tennessee... I am sad and happy all in one, these last 7 months have been something else. My daughter has had the time of her life with her cousins, and my mom and I are not talking. Which is a good thing, I really needed my mom back in my life, and so did my daughter. Hopefully within the next few months we will be back in Tennessee. Until we are back home, I am somewhat stuck and cannot enter giveaways or do the reviews I am wanting to do. The reason being not sure on where to have the packages sent. Once we get back to Tennessee, I will be getting some candles made and sold. I am going to try and get some more beeswax before we head out, so that I have it, I cannot beat the price I can get it for up here. I wish there was a way to get it and have it sent to me, without it costing a ton. The more it cost the more I have to sell the … [Read more...]

Wellness In A Drink?

With the recent explosion of health and diet regimens consumers are constantly on the lookout for innovative new ways to supplement their diet and exercise plans with healthy snacks and drinks that provide essential amounts of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other beneficial components. One such wellness drink to recently hit the market is Nopalea which originates from Opuntia Ficus Indica otherwise known as the Nopal Cactus. For centuries the properties of the Nopal have been relied on by many native peoples where the beneficial cactus traditionally grows. The primary benefits of Nopalea are it's ability to aid the body in reducing inflammation. Nopalea contains clinically proven antioxidants that compliment your body's own natural ability to reduce inflammation in joints, muscles and even your digestive tract. The anti inflammatory effects of Nopalea and the Nopal cactus are well known but up until recently have been limited to it's native regions. Now with the market … [Read more...]

Whitney Houston Dies At The Age Of 48

When I got online last night and seen Whitney Houston had passed away at the age of 48 I was sad. Whitney had amazing talents, although it is unclear of the cause of death, we can only assume what may have lead to her death. With drugs playing a large role in her life for many years, we are all assuming drugs finally got the better of her. Please remember though these are only assumptions until the cause of death is determined. I will always remember Whitney for her amazing work, one of my favorites of hers is "I Will Always Love You" May you rest in peace Whitney. … [Read more...]
