Here Comes Santa Claus!

Thanksgiving is now a thing of the past, and in a few short weeks we will all hear Santa's sleigh! Who is all ready for Christmas? I am as ready as I will get. I am not as excited about this year as I have been about the past, I guess a lot that has been going on, has put me a bit under the celebrating times. I am thinking about not even putting a tree up this year. Of course, this was after discussing it with my daughter. With being in a smaller place and not having much room, it was the best thing we could think of. I am going to put a small one in her room, but with her not believing in Santa no more it makes things a bit easier. Next year I am going all out, I will be doing the house, and the tree. I will have a big dinner, and have my sister and her babies over. I am hoping after the new year things will start looking up for it. I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving, and hopefully 2012 will be a better year for all! … [Read more...]

Computer Training For Dummies

How many of you remember the first time you ever got on a computer? It was 1995 I believe, and it was our lunch break, a bunch of us girls decided we wanted to check out the computer our teacher had in class. She let us connect it to the internet, and we started chatting away with some boys from another school. We thought that was the coolest thing ever. I remember we would go to school early and get on the computers in the library. Back then we really didn't have much for computer training, matter of fact we were the ones teaching the teachers how to use them. Now days they have classes one can take to learn more about computers, and books for those that still are not getting the hang of things. I have taught so many how to do certain things on the computer and online, it just all comes natural to me. One thing people don't realize is, in order to learn something new you have to try. I have ran into a lot of family who will simply not even try. What is the point of learning … [Read more...]

Security At Big Events

If you have ever been to any sort of big event, you know how important it is to have some sort of crowd control. Whether it be security guards walking around, or even police officers on call. You can never be to prepared when it comes to these events. I have been to several Music in the park type events, and have always seen some type of barricades. Having control over the crowd is a must, many people like to see action at these events, so fights and riots can possibly break out. Specially if they're serving alcoholic beverages.  Many event planners will make sure to have stanchions in place for better crowd control. How many of you have been to an event where they have such barricades in place? If not maybe you have watched an award shows on TV such as the Grammys and seen the velvet rope keeping excited fans at bay. If they didn't have such props in place the actors probably would stay at home. If you are every going to throw your own event, it is important to take proper … [Read more...]

The Best Ever Green Bean Casserole

One of my daughter's favorite Thanksgiving side dish is green bean casserole. For awhile she thought the only time you made it was during the holidays. Not only is this dish fairly cheap to make, it is also extremely easy.   Green Bean Casserole Recipe 2 (10.75 ounce) cans Cream of Mushroom Soup 3/4 cup milk 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 8 cups cooked cut green beans 2 2/3 cups French's French Fried Onions Mix cream of mushroom soup, pepper, and milk in a sauce pan. I like to heat this up some so it mixes better with the green beans. Once you have it heated stir in 1 cup of the french's friend onions, and the green beans. Bake in the oven on 350 for about 20 minutes. Then top with the remaining onions, and bake another 5 minutes. This is sure to be a huge hit! … [Read more...]

Finding The Perfect Dress

It has been many years since I have wore a dress. To be honest I think the last time I wore a dress was in high school! My husband has mentioned a few times he would love for me to get a few dresses. We have been together almost 12 years, and he has never seen me in a dress! After looking around, I now know why I have no dresses. Do you know how hard it is to find a nice plus size dress? Thankfully, I cam across a few places online, that have some super cute ones. I am thinking about purchasing a few so that I have something nice to wear on those date nights. After becoming a mom, a lot of my energy and attention went to my daughter. It wasn't until she was almost 2 when I realized I had to give my husband some of my attention as well. Now she is 10 and mom and dad are long over due for some dates without her. One great thing about living back up North, is I can just pretty much leave and not have to worry about her, I have my sister and my dad that keep her entertained. What … [Read more...]
