stuffed jalapeno peppers recipe

I am not one for hot spicy foods, and I am sure not the one for jalapeno peppers. However, my husband loves them! On my daughter’s birthday my sister made some stuffed jalapeno peppers, and I almost passed these up, until my husband told me they were not spicy.

So, I put on my big girl panties, got brave and tried one, let’s just say that one lead to about 5, and then I was hooked. I asked my sister how to make them, she failed to tell me the most important part, SOAK THEM!

When I made them I did not soak them and a few were super spicy I thought I was about to die, but both my husband and dad loved them with the extra spice. Want to know how to make these yummy things?

What You Need:

20 jalapeno peppers

20 string cheese

20 slices of bacon

toothpicks

Directions:

Cut jalapenos in half length wise, then scrap the seeds out. If you have sensitive hands make sure to wear gloves. This should give you 40, soak them in hot water. I am not sure if this makes a difference in the spice, I know the longer you cook them, the less spicy they are.

Cut your string cheese in half, cut the bacon in half.

You should know have 40 of each, take one of each put your cheese in the pepper half, and wrap your bacon around it, to keep the bacon in place stick a toothpick or two in it. Do this 39 more times.

Preheat oven to 375F, once oven is ready and the peppers are all stuffed pop them bad boys in the oven for about 40 minutes, check on them every so often, remember if you want them spicy do not cook them as long.

Original source unknown, my sister told me how to make, and she learned from a friend.

I am so going to try these! My kids love these things. We buy the frozen ones lol..

    • These are so much better, than the frozen ones. If you wanted you could use cream cheese instead of string cheese. I like them both ways.

  4. Nothing like waking up the tastebuds. Definitely wear gloves when cutting and removing the seeds! I have made that mistake way too many times and payed the price for more than 24 hours. Sounds yummy, I am thinking football party.
